Katelios is great, quiet and remote nestled in a valley, a mixed bag of rural agricultural space, villas and apartments, incredible views, beautiful sunsets, a blue flag beach that you get basically to yourself, and places to walk, clamber and otherwise explore. We went first week in October so we were at the tail-end of the season and it was extra quiet, which was perfect for us. Most places were still open though; plenty of options for eating and drinking and incredibly reasonable prices.

Mythos is clean and tidy, with a great pool. It's well looked-after (room cleaned nearly every day, but we were never disturbed by the dreaded march of the maids), but needs a bit of new life pumped into it. While the bed (comfy) and bedroom (plenty of space for 2) is fine, the bathroom and kitchen area are very Greek, reminiscent of a trip to the islands a decade ago. The fridge was noisy and very old, and the shower not the most inviting space, but we had everything we needed and spent a thoroughly relaxing week. The pool area is great, and the bar - while open - was well run with a good choice of drinks and snacks/lunch options. It wasn't always open when it should have been, with the opening hours shrinking throughout our week, but during pool-side hours there was always (one stormy day aside) someone there to get you a beer or a frappe. Honestly though, we paid basically nothing to spend a week in one of the most beautiful and charming places so tough to complain too much.

well what can i say that is not in the heading of this review,on arrival at the mythos apts, first thoughts were "think this is going to be very quite"we were right, quite as the grave, great of you like that, but not for usok not the apts fault but just saying.
we were shown to the bar/pool area to check in no reception, first impression how clean and well kept was the pool and thought nice that will do nicely,WRONG WRONG WRONG,we were given room 2 ground floor,if you look at the main picture it was hidden behind all the trees with no view no sun,but dont worry it gets worse in side the room it was a disaster teh fridge which was hidden in a cupboard was full of rust, the door seal split full of well i wouldnt like to guess although the floor had been mopped it was still full of food, into the bathroom tiles hanging of the walls others cracked, electric wires comming out of the walls taped together dont know if they were live and wasn't about to find out all in all the only thing this place needs is demolition and starting again sorry to be so negative but you speak as you find as said in the title save your money

Room tip: stay away you have been warned

Luck always plays a part when visiting a new abode abroad , although our luck normally holds .. this year was slightly different but not off putting . My wife & I stayed at the mythos for 2 weeks from 4th sept' , & once we got our bearings realised we had the smallest room on the site ( no 5 ) . Not a great problem , just a tad cosy but with a nice enough ground floor balcony .. which unfortunately for us was shared at 01.30 ( for an hour ) on monday the 12th by our new " very considerate neighbours " at no 4. Not content with using our balcony , they thought we'd like to hear all & sundry in loud voices with their exhaled smoke wafting in through our shutters ! ... goes round - comes round - spring to mind !! . Safe to say , we were glad they only stayed for a week !! .. other than this & our fuse board ( looked new ) tripping out continually during a monsoon like storm on our first tuesday .. our stay was enjoyable . The electric problem soon rectified itself as , " spiros " said it would " once the wiring DRIED OUT " ! . Apparently according to our young olympic rep' " spiros " in the winter is an electrician too .. aka " reg presscott " me thinks . Aside from these shenan'igans we had a good stay & would return here but request a different room (of which I have a list to choose from) . As we have stayed at katelios ( hara ) before , we already new the mythos is handily placed opposite a shop & next to venus car hire (worth using , kostas a lovely bloke & spotless vehicles !). A short walk to the sea front bars & resturants , the mythos has a nice pool area but the bar prices are a little high .. hence not many using it late at night during our stay .. but we'd still book here again though . The one thing we were surprised by , was the amount of times our bedding & towels were changed .. more than anywhere we've stayed on any greek island . A tip for the cleaner was the least we could do , thank you to her (didn't catch her name) , & no offence spiros but if we need a rewire i'll get someone local . Had we had a room with a tad more space we would've give the mythos a 4 on the ol' scoreboard . Room tip , give no's 3 & 4 a swerve .. nice enough rooms but horrible ground floor balconies with hemmed in feel .

Room tip: avoid no's 3 & 4 .

Five of us stayed here for 10 days including my 1 year old grandson. We stayed in rooms 31 and 32. Whilst the pool and bar area are nice and the bar staff are very welcoming, the rooms are very, very basic and the bathroom and kitchenette leave a lot to be desired. I don't know how Olympic holidays can rate this place as a 3 star, perhaps it's the pool. I would struggle to give it 2 stars. The bathrooms looked as if they hadn't been refurbished since the place was built (in the 1960's??) the shower was minging, there's no other way to describe it, the shower curtain was torn and mouldy, the metal grille on the floor was blocked with somebody's hair, in common with some other places in Greece they advise you not to put any paper down the loo. It's an inconvenience and unhygienic to have to place soiled toilet paper in a bin. Unfortunately in room 32 there was a very strong, persistent smell of urine emanating from the loo. The kitchenette such as it was, was extremely basic, we washed up in the sink and the water emptied into the cupboard underneath! The electric lead on the sandwich toaster looked lethal, the electricity supply cable had obviously been broken and repaired with insulation tape. The sheets and towels were changed regularly but this didn't make up for the other shortcomings. The mattress protector didn't reach the sides of the bed. Although the cleaner emptied the bins every couple of days and replaced the towels and bed linen, she didn't clean the bathroom or kitchenette sink. Although we don't expect the comforts of home when on holiday, we do expect a certain degree of hygiene which seemed to be sadly lacking. For the price we feel as if we were ripped off.

Room tip: You can't choose which room to stay in

Just back from two weeks at he Mythos Apartments. Fantastic pool area kept spotlessly clean, pool man on site 6am every morning. Spacious rooms with a fantastic maid who came in 6 times a week, changing the sheets and towels every other day.
Unfortunately, the bar area let it down. It looked nice when we arrived and was open late first night (our delayed flight meant we didn't arrive until half past midnight). However, the bar lacked stock, no Mythos available for the whole two weeks and another local beer ran out after two days and wasn't replenished until the day before we left. Local brands of soft drinks at high prices and when ordering a gin and tonic you get a 25ml measure for €5!!! Every other bar in the area was he usual free-pour and most the same price or cheaper. What was really disappointing was that they did nothing to entice you in. Signs saying there is a weekly bbq with live music never happened. On several occasions they wouldn't turn up until mid morning and would be closed by the time we got home from dinner at 10pm. In the second week, we had two days of torrential rain, thunder and lightning. We were a captive audience as you literally could not go anywhere as it was so bad. But they turned up at 11.30am and then closed at 1.30pm.
Lovely apartments, fantastic pool, but please, give he bar franchise to someone who cares!
