“Spectacular!”

If youre looking for solitude, a romantic spot, fine dining, a friendly staff, adventure and just have a great tiem, the CopaMarina Beach Resort is the place for your vacation. We went there this weekend and had a blast. We had alone time, we had fun on the beach with the activities the resort offers, we ate great, and we went trailing to the nearby Bosque Seco (Dry Forest) that is 5 minutes away. Definetely a jewel in the south of Puerto Rico. Wanna have a beach wedding? This is the perfect spot for it. Highly recommended resort. We are already planning our next visit.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms are more private.

Friends of ours recently held their destination wedding at the Copamarina. Fantastic!! Great place to stay if your looking for a guiet place during off season. Great resturant, great service and beautiful clean grounds. Only complaint was housekeeping. They did a poor job for only a few rooms being occupied and no one checked after them to see the if the rooms were to standard. They also messed up our billing and now I need to get that error fixed.

We went to go diving with Aqua Adventure... and found the resort to be very relaxing. A nice change from the busy resorts. A huge property, with lots to do.. Spa, diving, kayak rentals, 2 pools, and the list goes on. Excellent service. A very good restaurant.. the snapper is highly reccommend! And be sure to take a boat ride over to Gilligans island..

Room Tip: Don't want to be by the stairs... I reccommend the 1 story building. Ocean view is a must!

My family and I stayed here in 2010. It was a beautiful resort! There was a tremendous amount to do, however not many other people on the resort. This worked to our benefit as we felt like we had the run of the place. You can take a short boat ride out to Gilligans Island right from the resort. It was well worth it! You can snorkel or just swim and have fun at the island. It was awsome, the beach at the resort is not so great so this was a welcome relief. The one thing I must point out was how great the service was. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. We are returning to PR this year and hope to stay there again!

I spent hours reading reviews on Trip Advisor trying to choose the right hotel for our 10th anniversary trip. I finally settled on Copamarina for a good portion of our visit to Puerto Rico because it just sounded like a perfect fit: beautiful, laid back, and peaceful. Copamarina is definitely all those things, but the not so nice reviews, now that I have experience to consider them, have a lot of truth to them as well.

The good: the staff. With the exception of one kind of surly bartender our first evening there, everyone we encountered at Copamarina were wonderful. The vibe is family friendly but there is enough room to find space if you're there as a couple. Totally laid back and relaxing.

The bad: the resort itself. It could use some updating. (as mentioned in other reviews). We stayed in Building 5 and while it was probably as clean as it could be, I really wanted to take a power washer to the bathroom tile. The plus side of the rooms is every room faces the Caribbean and every room has their own balcony. We were lucky in that we only had neighbors one of the two nights we stayed and they weren't outside when we were so we could enjoy the ocean view. The pictures on Copamarina.com show these lovely draped cabanas where I imagined snuggling up with the hubby, some sangria and a book and losing a whole afternoon. In reality, it had rained a little the night before, the middle of the mattress was a puddle and the lovely white sheets on the website were covered in spots of mold. The beach itself is covered, quite literally, with sand bees. It's hardly a place you want to hang out if you're not luck enough to snag a shaded cabana (one of the thatched roof ones and stay in a lounge chair!)

The a/c unit in our hotel sounded like we had a B52 bomber staying with us. Seriously it was hard to carry on a conversation when it was running. When we wanted to sit on the balcony, we would just turn it off and turn it back on when it got hot in the room. I'm a white noise kind of person and love the hum of anything like a fan or air conditioner while I'm sleeping but this unit in Building 5 was just way too loud. Really loud.

One of the things that drew me to Copamarina was it's isolation/location. (We're just not the San Juan casino nightlife kind of people). But the prices of both restaurants and the fact that NOTHING else is included (breakfast, a happy hour, anything) is a little hard to take considering the resort fees you pay. When you add on a the cost of a kayak rental or any other kind of excursion, it seems a bit overpriced.

It was a wonderful stay and I would still recommend it to friends but please do your homework and realize all the reviews here have some good and sound points. I think my expectations, largely based on the Copamarina website itself, were a little high and it just didn't live up. If you read a good chunk of reviews and still sounds like a place you want to hang out, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: A positive side of building 5 was it was away from the "family pool" so we rarely heard sc...

We visited the resort the last week of April, with friends. Although there was a wedding during the weekend, we experienced good, friendly service at the restaurants, although a bit slow at the outdoors restaurant. The room was clean and comfortable and I heard they will update furniture in the near future so that will make them even better. The beach was indeed swimmable if you walked a few feet into the water and it was great for paddle boarding. Very close to " The Bosque Seco and Bosque Enano" which are good for bird watching and nature walks. The formal restaurant was great, with good selections and excellent food for very reasonable prices.
We are planning to return with our kids.

This place needs to look-up the defination of a Resort and comply to those standards. Their beach is unswimmable, there were zillions of sand beas, pool was cloudy. You pay top dollar to stay at a "resort" that charges $20.00 pp for buffet style breakfast that was mediocore where the waiters only pick your dishes but expect a nice tip, charges guests for ferry service to Guilligan's Island and charges for non-motorized sports. I was devoured by mosquitos at the reception area, our room could have been cleaner. No activities, no music, nada. Only good thing I have to say is that the CopaMarina must pay top dollar to their landscapers because that's the only thing worth saying it should be considered a resort - the landscaping.

Room Tip: Ocean front rooms are always a nice touch to your vacation...

Dear M. Cocimocci;

Thanks for taking part of your valued time to post your comments on TripAvdisor. Your valued comments always help us to improve our level of service and the quality of our resort.

We do apologize for the shortcomings that were experienced while visiting us such as the ‘’cloudy pool”. Most likely your stay was followed immediately after our scheduled deep clean. The water was 100% safe but normally it takes at least 24 hours to become as crystal clear as we proudly keep it. Guest room cleaning and attention of service in the restaurants has been pointed out to the appropriate managers to rectify immediately.

We are proud that we use only fresh and high quality products to prepare our meals, A la carte option is always available for breakfast, gratuities are not included, and guests are welcome to offer it as a reward for good service.

Our Resort is located inside the Dry Forest, a sanctuary for wild life and vegetation, birds, mosquitoes and sand bees that are part of our environment. From time to time, due to high and low tides our beach becomes very scenic but “’unswimmable”, and this is why we offer daily trips to Guilligan's Island (only 5 minutes away) where you can enjoy crystal clear water that is perfect for swimming. Our guests may also use the public beach at walking distance just a few meters away.

Use of our tennis courts, fitness center, table games and live entertainment are complimentary, and live entertainment is offered every Thursday to Sunday. For the more adventurous, for a nominal charge we do offer Diving, Snorkeling, Snuba, Kayaks, and Paddle boards.

Thank you for noticing our landscape, this has been one of our most valued trademarks!
One again, we are sorry that your visit fell short of expectations, but we do appreciate your comments all the same.

Respectfully
Rabin Ortiz
