If you are in Quito you should take a day trip to see the Monument at the Middle of the world. If you have time you should go to the Intinan Museum also that supposed to be the real Mitad del Mundo.
Great place!

In order to get there you must get a taxi since it's about 45 minutes away from Quito. Once there, you must pay $7.50 for the full pass, trust me it is worth it, especially if you are bringing kids. Once inside, you will be able to see house replicas from the Amazon, Sierra, and some others. There is plenty of activities for kids with full pass, different museums, exploratory, kid's activities, chapel, galleries and plenty of restaurants. Bring sunscreen, since it gets really hot and sun burns your skin more than the beach. Plan to spend around 3hrs.

The draw is basically saying you have been there, haha. But it is worth a stop - not far out of the city of Quito.

It's a bit corny/touristy, but the area is quite beautiful, and the view from the top of the monument is very good.
