This huge golden construction is impressive. Very very shiny when the sun reflects on the surface. It was very very slippery due to rain earlier that day. There was so many small shops around the wheel mostly local people nought things. Not so crowded.

Built in 1648, Kaunghmudaw Pagoda is a huge pagoda in the shape of a perfect hemisphere. The legend said the King was used breast of his wife as the templets of the stupa type. The enormous dome rises 46 m (151 feet) high and house a large white marble Buddha in its center. There are over 800 stone pillars circle the base along with image-filled niches.

Note: In Myanmar, it is a tradition to remove shoes before entering a temple, monument and holy place. So, either remember where you left your shoes or carry them in a plastic bag or put them into your bag. Especially in this pagoda, because of its circular shape and everything looks similar, it is quite easy to get confused to find the shoes’ location after going around the whole pagoda base.

This pagoda is quite a different shape to many of the pagodas we saw in Myanmar. We did not go inside - it was just a photo stop to look at the outside. Some impressive Burmese lions out the front too.

Taken there by tour guide after seeing many pagodas already, so they are start to seem the same. This one is the "breast" pagoda or the golden dome built in 17th century. It is worth a look.

We stopped off on our way from Mandalay airport to join the Pandaw at Monyma.
Its unique shape, some describe it as a woman's breast ,others like an upturned bowl, it is remarkable and different to others in Myanmar.
When it was in its original white it must have been stunning. Few tourists but well worth a visit.
