We spent a week half-board at the Alexandra Beach last summer. This was our second trip to Thassos, having stayed in Skala Prinou on a previous visit.
We saw the hotel during a boat trip and decided to come back and stay.
We paid extra for a large and comfortable superior room with balcony and sea view. We could not fault the staff, service or amenities at the hotel.
Breakfast and dinner were both buffet style with a huge choice of Greek and other food. Each night there was also a special (ie gyros kebabs). You won't go hungry.
The pool was usually crowded with kids as it seems that despite being term-time in England, many Bulgarians and Serbians head to the island for their sun fix.
This wasn't a problem as we spent every day on the hotel's private stretch of beach. Typically for Greece the beach is stone but there are two long pontoons from which you can dive in.
The nearby town of Potos is just minutes walk away and offered a good range of traditional tavernas on the evenings we fancied a change from the hotel buffet.
We don't usually choose such big hotels for our holidays but enjoyed ourselves.

It was my first time to Thassos and this hotel is a lovely place to stay. The staff are lovely and helpful. There are no rooms in the main hotel and all are in separate buildings. Mine had lovely French doors to the patio area and was spacious and clean.

The food was definitely acceptable to me, being a vegetarian so always plenty of choice.

Sitting outside during the day to eat can be difficult with the wasps but the staff will bring over anti-wasp burners to ease this.

The hotel is located right on the beach where there were plenty of sun beds although around the two pools these are limited.

There is plenty of seating area all around the hotel facing the sea which was lovely and relaxing.

The entertainment was good in parts but on the nights where it was not English speaking it was hard to enjoy the atmosphere although us English can’t have it all!

On the whole I loved my stay in this hotel and would love to go back one day.

Good evening, I was lucky enough to come to this complex two years ago, and I mean it was one of the best hotels in Greece where I was staying. First of all I mean that reception was not exactly as it was supposed to be in the sense that only the Germans were served with a champagne reception, if you came from another country do not bother you. Taking over this aspect, the clean, large rooms change the linen daily, the food diversified, a minus water which had to be paid both in the room and at the half-board table, the clean swimming pools, the staff that supervises the children, animation in German only and a little English, live music, one over the other deserves every ban, recommend families with children. return on another occasion.

Room Tip: the best rooms are those with sea view

Husband & I had 10 nights here early September & had a great time.
It was a long day travelling, we were checked in quickly & they offered to take our luggage to our room, but we took it ourselves. We had a large room, good décor & very clean, only downside was that the room was in the block next to reception, we were woken every morning except Sunday by the refuse collection !!! Not a major issue but would have been nice to have a lay in. Also the evening entertainment was very noisy, could hear it with doors closed & did go on until about 12, so no early nights !! We did ask if we could be relocated, but were told that hotel was full
The hotel was spotless , we managed to find something to eat at both breakfast & evening meal & the waiters were very attentive.
I have to make a special mention to George the bar manager & all the other bar staff
they work really hard & always have a smile & a chat. The cocktails were probably the best we have ever had & we enjoyed working our way through the list
We went into Potos a few times, plenty of places to eat & drink, we particulary enjoyed a gyros each & shared a large Mythos for less than 10 euros
We would go back :-)
