This place looks great - it was recently renovated. However, a great appearance didn't make up for a complete lack of customer service and the inability to fulfill advertized amenities. First, we called in advanced and reserved a room for two nights. Upon arrival, we were informed that the room we reserved was actually only available for one night and that we would have to check out the next day by 10am and then wait until 2pm before we could move into another room. Due to this unexpected inconvenience, we requested a small deduction in the nightly rate. The receptionist couldn't answer. She called her manager, who declined to authorize any type of reduced rate or other compensation. If it wasn't for the lateness of the hour, we would have walked out and looked for another hotel.
They advertized AC and Internet, both of which we made sure to confirm when we made our reservations. However, once in our room, it quickly became apparent that the AC didn't work. We let them know and they said "Sorry". The Internet worked for the first 5 minutes, then died after that.
The next morning, we made some phone calls and found another hotel. At 10am upon check out, even before we could hand them the keys, they had the audacity to let us know that, in fact, we could stay in the same room this very night. Having missed the opportunity to sleep in and to leave our bags unpacked, and not wanting to spend another miserably hot night with no Internet, we declined.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are many other hotels in Nyiregyhaza. Please read my review of the Lugas Hotel.
