For us, this was a day trip of seven hours by the time we left our house in Regina until we returned. We love heritage trains and this was a good time. We took the regular train trip with no meals or anything 'fancy' and it was fine. Nice people on the train, both the passengers and the staff. Afterwards, we picked up some of their authentic Italian pizzas and returned home to bake them. The pizzas are incredible. We love days trips to small towns.

Definitely something different to do for anyone of any age. Refreshments for sale on board including beer! So much love put into this attraction. The guide was friendly and informative. Transported to another era gently rolling through the prairie landscape. Seek it out!

A wonderful evening travelling in 1920's style. Forty five minute train ride in an authentic Pullman passenger car. Despite previous reviews this is not the flat prairies, this is the rolling hills and pothole lakes country of Saskatchewan.
Pitchfork steak chef Merv kept the crowd laughing at the near ghost town of Horizon while deep frying our steaks. Great meal.
I make a return visit to this railroad. I hope they get the steamy rolling soon.

Thanks GGunner,
We agree that Merv & his food are great! The view of the 'flat' prairies can be a different perspective when you are on the rail line and get to see the intricacies as you mentioned. It's at its best when the wildlife is active and the crops are in full swing. Hope to see you back again.

Train ride and commentary was good. Supper was good but not a oh my gosh that was so good. The entertainment on the train was iffy. Not a near as good as good as the Alberta Steam Train excursions. The entertainment at supper would have been really good if you could hear it and see the girls dancing. They should have been on the stage. For the price we expected it to be exceptional.

Train ride and commentary were great. Ride is approximately 2 hours. Very smooth ride. We went on rum runner and would suggest anyone taking this excursion to go on one of the other ones such as the pitch fork fondu
