This was a pleasant stay in " horse country" in a delightful part of Portugal.
The room was fine but a trifle basic. The dinner was minimal and definitely to be avoided as it was poor value for money. Breakfast was first come, best served, if you were late there was little left! I noted that two complimentary drinks from the proprietor were charged on my bill! The historic house was worth the stay alone as were the Lusitano thoroughbreds. The village of Golega, 3 miles away, is fascinating where horses and riders can be seen practising their dressage moves in the communal village arena.
