Popped in here on the first day of a trip round NZ. Delicious (and huge!) iced chocolate and great cake. Atmosphere was welcoming and staff were lovely. They even took the time to point out places we should visit on our travels.

Second time visiting, cafe a little over half full .. took over 10 mins to take our order then 15 mins for 1 pot of tea to arrive and a further 20 for 1 fritters and one salad .... so mention of a dilay on food, no apologies for the wait ... salad was nice .. bacon with the fritters was cold. Won't go back

The service was quick, the food was good: eggs benny for me w spinach & avocado instead of bacon or salmon, atop toasted ciabatta, & a humongous omelette with 3 fillings, 8 offered, for my dining companion who chose spinach, mushrooms & salmon. This was far too big for her so we got a takeaway plate for the half she couldn't eat. The water we asked for was nicely chilled & served in colourful cups. The decor is music themed with the menu on the flipside of record covers, record covers covering walls & records adorning the front of the cashier/counter area. Retro tables & colourful seating make for a great mix & relaxed feel. Comfortable lounge chairs out front give a glimpse of the vibe indoors. The music was a mite loud when first seated , with plenty of tables to choose from, but this was turned down to a more comfortable level a short time later which made conversation easier with my companion. Unfortunately, as I often do, I forgot to take pix of the delectable food as we were too ravenous. Will be back again for another visit so will try to remember to take food pix then!
