The Olive Grove apartments are in a beautiful, picturesque location in the bay of Turunç. The grounds are quite large but feel cosy and private as they are linked together nice stone lined paths that lead all around the apartments and down to the pool area.
They boast the largest private swimming pool in Turunç which is situated centrally among the sixteen apartments and is surrounded by gardens and leafy foliage. The apartment we holidayed in on all of our visits to turunç is a spacious 2 floor apartment with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large open plan kitchen with a dining and living area. There is a balcony on both floors, the lower leading from a bedroom at ground level to the pool and garden area and the upper balcony leading from the dining/living area on the 1st floor which has a fantastic picturesque view of the village and sea.
The apartment is beautiful and stylish both in fitting with Turunç and the modern look the owners desired. The interior floors including stairs are a nice, cooling, marble effect and the decor is a mix of tradition with contemporary. The kitchen is large enough to preapare meals to the standard you would have at home with the produce available from the shops and markets of the villiage and nearby resorts of Marmaris and Içmeler if you fancy a night in. I would also recommend a quick 5 minute walk to the local small bakery in the mornings who freshly bake a variety of breads (village bread a favourite of ours) then back to the apartment to enjoy fresh warm bread with butter for breakfast. Beautiful!.
The centre of this beautiful fishing villiage is an enjoyable 5 minutes walk where there is an array of shops, bars and restaurants that are all owned and staffed by friendly and welcoming people.
Eating out in Turunç is a true delight in one of the fine restaurants; personal favourites are the Körfez restaurant which has a fabulous sea front location matched with excellent quality food and also the Sen which is a small restaurant that is part of an apartment complex and just off the main street, the Sen is pround to have Caffer (pronounced Jaffa) as their chef who is a truely talented chef that makes excellent traditional dishes and also the best steaks I have personally ever tasted.
This is our favouritea holiday destination, a reason we are repeat visitors. the resort is small and quiet and will not get larger and spoilt by over tourism due to the natural confines of the surrounding mountains. it is however close marmaris which is very busy by day and night and caters for all tastes from the scenery of the traditional structures and large port to the busy bars and restaurants in the evening. Closer still is the resort of Içmeler which is in between the two resorts both in location and in how busy the resort gets, Içmeler has lots of restaurants and bars and busy shops where, like Marmaris, you can expect a little bartering. Both neighbouring resorts can be easily and frequently accessed by Dolmus or Water taxi from one of the stops or the port respectively. All-in-all we love this resort from its friendly welcoming people, to its great location, we will definitely visit Turunc and the Olive grove apartments again - more than once!
