It will be difficult for me to combine all the wonderful features of this hotel into one short report. To begin with the 4.5 circle rating of 5 circles could easily be upped to 5 if I were the judge.
Our room was in the Double Room Landro Lodge category and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it. It was quiet, modern (esp. the bathroom) and large with a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains and valley from the windows and balcony.
The hotel is conveniently located in Neu-Toblach along the main road to Cortina d’Ampezzo. This may be of concern for some guests if they book a room facing the road, as it is active from about 5.30/6.00 am to about 10.00/10.30 pm. If you are accustomed to the sound of traffic, then you can increase your choice of rooms, which include some very nice and interesting rooms in the Alpenrose Category.
I believe that every guest is immediately taken by the tastefully appointed common areas such as the lobby, restaurant, waiting room between the bar and dining room as well as the individual hotel rooms and the extensive pool & spa region. They have tastefully and elegantly decorated these areas in a traditional Tyrol-style. The guest rooms are equally nicely decorated and maintained. The hotel’s website does a wonderful job of showing the prospective guest the different rooms and features therein. Pleasant music (from easy listening Classical to Jazz) is played at a low volume in public areas such as the dining room and lobby, which adds to the ambiance.
The hotel staff are very helpful and accommodating. Together they speak a broad selection of languages: Italian, German, English and some French. There were many English speaking guests in the hotel with no German language knowledge, and who got along very well.
The pool and spa facilities are all first class and a wonderful way to relax after a “hard day’s hiking, biking or skiing” depending on the time of year visited. There are two heated pools, one indoors, and the other outdoors that is accessed from inside via sliding doors. This in itself is a unique experience. There is a lovely lawn with deck and lounge chairs for guests to relax on. Most of the saunas are located in the naturalist zone ranging from a good sized steam bath, a cozy scented moderate temperature sauna to 2 high temperature large Finnish style saunas. There is a large variety of areas in which guests can relax during their spa area visit that allows each person to choose what is right for them.
Full spa facilities are also available for those that want to pamper themselves with massages etc. See their website for all the options/services offered. We treated ourselves to full-body massages and really enjoyed them.
I cannot begin to describe the wide range of foods available at the breakfast buffet. But suffice to say that it goes way beyond the average 4-Star hotel in variety of foods on offer including Prosecco and freshly squeezed orange juice.
We opted for the HP (Half Pension) offer which includes a first class dinner and the above mentioned breakfast buffet. The food is really excellent. But do not just take my word for it, as the hotel’s restaurant is 2017 Michelin-listed. HP dinner guests can choose from 3 different 5-course menus and even have the option to choose individual items from any of the 3. One menu is usually a Classic or “Italian themed” dinner, while the second was Regional “Tyrolian” based, and the third was “Fitness and Health” based. Over the course of our 12 day stay we had the opportunity to try many of their delicious meals.
What we really appreciated with their dinners was that the portions were moderate in size. Not gigantic and/or too much of the same, but pleasant portioned meals presented with a fabulous Nouvelle Cuisine appearance. Photographs of the meals cannot do them justice.
The dining room wait-staff is extremely efficient and attentive. Each section has a number of waiters serving it thereby providing better and faster service for all guests. They go out of their way to make every guest feel special and look after all their needs and wishes. We were particularly impressed how the head waiter (Christian) balanced the staff and guests with expert skill.
The hotel is a family run business and the family takes a very active role in its day-to-day operation, thereby assuring that all guests get the best service possible.
The hotel is very popular with Italian, German and Austrian visitors with a fair amount of English speaking guests staying here as well.
I know that if we were to re-visit this area for further hiking and climbing, we will be certain to stay here again.

Room Tip: You cannot go wrong with a "double room Landro lodge" room

I've been in the large and beautiful SPA a few time.
Very nice place that has completely wowed me to the point I lost the perception of time.
The indoor and outdoor pool offers a beautiful view of the mountains and, of course, of the famous Nordic Arena.

If you want to experience the absolute top of any hotel at what is still a reasonable price you have to come here. Champagne breakfast, 5 course gourmet dinner, huge wellness area, all included. No wonder the hall has pictures of presidents and royals that choose to stay here.

Mr Santer was one of the best hotel owners we have met. We had a free upgrade, huge room with an amazing view of the hills and mountains, and excellent service all round. Breakfast had lots of choice, and dinner was perfect. We flew in to see Ludovico Einaudi perform for the weekend, and Mr Santer managed to organise for our dinner table to be situated next to where Mr Einaudi had dinner. Would definitely go back.

I went there with my wife for our anniversary. The Dolomites are beautiful and this place fits in perfectly. The spa is great and offers different types of massages and relaxing options. We had not selected the dinner option so I can't judge it (prices seemed reasonable) but the brunch is big and delicious. So overall the suite was great, the food was great, the service was great and the spa was great. Top notch.
