We always enjoy mixing a bit of 'industrial tourism" in our trips and we were not disappointed with this visit.
Passionate people showing how they make olive oil in a very well run shop. Very interesting to hear the story behind the bottle of olive oil you buy in your local supermarket.

If you ever wondered what is the difference between extra virgin oil and virgin oil it is the place you should visit. Friendly staff will show you how the olive oil production process looks like. Entrance is free (as of June 2017) and there is also a small shop with local olive oil.

We were shown a brief history of how olive oil has been collected and processed over time then given some bread and a variety of olive oils to test then of course there is oil to buy. The same oil is for sale in most shops and a little cheaper and is very good oil.

Visited the olive press museum today, shows you all the old ways of processing the olives and then how it is done today. You have a chance to sample the olive oil they make at the end of the tour

As a family we really enjoyed this and learning the process good size car park, met in the car park and shown where the tour starts. A local bus runs to and from the museum/factory. We got to see a 1500 year old olive tree and the old tools and machines they used to harvest and make olive oil.
