This is a nice resort, even though it is passed its prime and it needs some maintenance.
We stayed in a room just 10 meters from the ocean (at high tide) and it was just magical.
We did go during a low season period therefore there were very few guests. But it felt nice and private.
We had THE best fish soup at the small restaurant next to the pool. Well worth the wait!

We enjoyed our stay over Christmas at Jacaranda Indian Ocean Beach Resort. We enjoyed the food, beautiful ocean view, clean rooms, and friendly staff. Everything went smoothly from check in, to check out. We enjoyed the night entertainment - especially the acrobats that performed on Boxing Day. As a foreigner, I felt very safe at this resort. I would vacation here in the future.

We visited for Christmas. This hotel is in a fantastic location with some sea front rooms on the beach. The check in was smooth and efficient. The design is made up of villas spread out across the property. This offers a feeling of privacy.

Even when the hotel is busy, one does not feel it because of how the villas are located. There is a very relaxed, easy, beach life atmosphere here- unlike the large hotels which feel like institutions.

Our room was facing the Indian Ocean, with a balcony. Unlike many hotels where one has to hustle for beach beds, this hotel has plenty of them in strategic locations under shades or right in the open sun. You just need ask the pool man to set up the mattresses on the beachbed, in the location of your choice, and he will do that every morning.

The three plunge pools located in various parts of the property are perfect for cooling off.

The beach is nice and clean and has hardly any beach boys - unlike many hotels on the Kenyan coast.

Throughout our stay here there was constant sea breeze which was wonderful. Am not sure if it was just the seasin or if the location has anything to do with it. The staff say ita usually like this.

The food was great with nice variety. The Dhow Bar on the beach is just out of this world! Sweet memories will forever remain of relaxing here enjoying the cool breeze as we had our drinks.

The staff are friendly and helpful. This is one hotel I highly recommend.

Beautiful location but poorly managed. We recently got back from a 3 night 4 day stay here. Despite the location being beautiful, there are many choices for hotel a long the beach and I would not go for this one again. I must stress despite the poor management the staff in general were lovely and went out of their way to help us. The issue is one exclusively of management.

First and foremost the place does not take health and safety seriously. The electricity in our rooms continuously gave myself and my girlfriend shocks. When we told this to management they sent an electrician down with a screwdriver, who told us that everything was fine and making us out to feel like liars. When it continued to happen they again insisted everything was fine. We requested to be moved room but they said there were none available and wanted to just deal with it in the morning. There was no effort from their part to resolve the situation or compensate for the fact that we were not comfortable or safe in the room we paid for. After persistent discussions they eventually agreed to knock a pitiful 1500shillings (£10, $15) off our tab. Simply not good enough considering that as well as being unsafe in the room we were unable to use basic amenities like the fridge or to charge out appliances.

As well as this there were simple management issues. We were unable to buy water before 7am when we had an all day excursion. It was very difficult to get hold of a towel round the pool. The food was overpriced and fairly average. The bars round the pool often weren't stocked up with very limited choice.

This place has the potential to be great under new management but as it currently operates I would try one of the many other hotels a long the beach front.

Lovely staff who do care very much. Had been moving from the very bad hotel called African Pearl & Spa (a terrible French owner in a dirty hotel with lazy staff) and was hoping for a good stay in Jacaranda instead and I was so lucky to find this hotel! Great location, very friendly staff who brought me fresh coconuts every day. Very clean rooms. Very good price for the stay! The only minus is the load music in the evening from the restaurant and a bit boring food at evening. The breakfast is very good though!
