Group of friends stayed here for 2 nights. I enjoyed the property though more rustic than I would have liked. It was fine and affordable. Food was good. Service OK. Drinks were very good. Great location on ocean.

Lovely hotel, with access on a beautiful beach, very quite and restful. Our seaview room was large and with a lovely balcony, king size bed was comfortable. The toilet is separate from the shower, they are both quite small but okay. Room had a/c and fridge, but no TV (for those who care about it).
Comfy sunbeds and towels are available for guests both at the pool and on the beach.
Breakfast was included in our rate, simple full English breakfast (eggs, beans, sausage), crêpes, fruits and yogurt. Overall good, but the coffee could definitely be improved.
The restaurant serves great seafood, we ate there 3 times and were never disappointed. The service is quick and the staff are kind.

The only downside was the day trip we book at the reception to Wasini Island, but not managed by the hotel itself. Poorly organised and they tried to charge us more money at every step!

Overall a great hotel and good value for money, highly recommended for those that look for small hotels, away from the big loud resorts.

Perfect location (about a 15 minute drive from the airport). Lovely spacious room with a beautiful design. Swimming pool is nice and you will find monkeys climbing the trees above you. Restaurant is nice, though staff were at times very slow. Prices are average. The breakfast was disappointing. The beach area is beautiful and plenty of sunbeds are provided. In spite of all this, the hotel is defiantly overpriced. All in all, it was a positive, warm stay at Blue Marlin!

First thing i want ro say is that my review has nothing to do with the staff or the people of kenya who were all very welcoming and did their best to please us.So lets start,Ridiculously overpriced!Room was not even basic.2 average size beds who were more than one meter from the ground and a fall during sleep could kill a person! The room did not have a fridge so that we can have cold water in the hot days and not even a hairdryer.I know Kenya is a poor country and all these things wouldn't be an issue if they didn't charge me 120$ per night for a room! The breakfast was the same bad thing every single day we were there for 7 days.Scrambled eggs with 2 pancakes and a cup of coffee or tea.The owner who is not Kenyan is taking advantage of the hard working Kenyan people but I think this is an issue in the whole of Kenya! All the facilities of the hotel were rusty and looked like it is abandoned of care for years.I travelled a lot in my life and I know when I am getting ripped off!Highly dissapointed.Room is ok for 25-30$ max. Thanks to all the staff for taking care of us!

We are sorry for your anonymous review which is not giving us even the opportunity to identify what exactly caused your very unusual reaction, but we can guess:
1. You booked a pool side room. During the high season. This type of room has been listed without fridge.
2. In your room the beds are standard single size, there is no "average" size. The standard height of the bed is 1 1/2 feet from the floor.
3. We do serve continental breakfast: eggs (on your choice, if you can explain to the waiter), toasted bread, butter, fruits, pancakes, sausages, fresh juice, tea or coffee.
4. Your remarks regarding Kenyans touched us deeply.
During the years we've created job for more than hundred people, paying them over the average salaries, health and social insurance, giving them the opportunity to educate their children and to maintain everyday life of their families. Not to mention the taxes paid to the institutions. Not to mention the schools and orphanages we've connected many of our guests to. Not to mention tens of peripheral businesses (small shops, vegetable markets, transport operators) benefiting from our activities.
Being in Kenya for so long, we learned something very important - before you judge, you better try to understand.

A lovely hotel with excellent service and the staff were all wonderful ... very quiet location to unwind and relax for a week. Lovely rooms and clean white sandy beach with turquoise waters .... will definitely go back again ... The restaurant food was great .... their specialty being seafood ... Lovely

Room tip: All rooms are great and face the sea ....
