Swahili Pot Dishes a locally designed restaurant offering Local swahili dishes .. Want to have a taste of Pillau, Biriani, Mashed Potatoes and many more .. Make a date with this great restaurant. No noises .. and so it is a really nice place for a private meeting or even for a small group meeting .. Drinks are also available cold or warm.

I had fried cowpeas. According to the menu thats cowpeas fried with onions, garlic and tomatoes and more. What i got was just beans in a lot of gravy. That sort of gravy that you take from a tube and that tastes very artificial. The whole food was spoiled. Disgusting. When we asked for the bill they charged 100 instead of 70 ksh for a soda. They just wanted to make some extra money because "the prices changed".

Visited this place a couple of times thanks to the reviews here and recommendations from friends.

Unfortunately wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

Service is slow and disappointingly , the food did not live up to the hype.

This has been a hang-out of choice, first by accident as I was staying next door (Mangro hotel) and basically just tried it out. They have some amazing biryani, excellent fish and fresh juice and a variety of drinks. Very courteous employees who will attend to you soon as you walk in.
Only care to take is if you are eating there past 5pm, you might want to dab on some repellant as mosquitoes come out, and the sitting area is an open space. That aside, the culinary experience is authentically coastal. Enjoy

We saw this place on our way back from a few days. We had eaten in five different supposed to be affordable but this was one of the best meals I had in diani. We ate fish,(samaki wa kupaka) and brown chapati. The chapati were well done and a good size.
The fish was a medium size but it was well done and the sauce ,coconut sauce applied on the fish was delicious. The place is simple but the meal and price is a good match.Better than most budget restaurants around. Do something about the flies though.
