“Excellent Property in Goa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2012

Excellent property in South GOA..... Nice and clean Beach. We stayed in this property for 6 nights and 7 days and have great experience. First let me brief about the property... Its on south goa situated at most clean beachs of Goa (unlike Baga and calangut or Colva) . its 25 acres lush green beach property and u will find ample sun beds on beach, garden and pool area. Property looks old but well maintained. Pool is big enough with option of child pool. Now i will give some more details about the property ( u can say it is 4 star property)
Airport transfer : airport pickup was on time, resort have 18-20 seater mini buses which are old, but well managed. Airport to resort is more than an hour drive. I suggest resort must introduce new vehicles for pickup and drop (at least for 2-4 persons). However roads to resort are in good conditions so no bumpy ride...
Checkin: Resort check in was very smooth and front desk staff gives a warm welcome and everything related to our checkin papers were ready... offered non alcoholic drink while you complete the formalities. The front desk staff was very nice and offered us a room near to pool and 24 hours restaurant (considering that my is pregnant). Staff clearly states whats included in our package and other benefits. We got a call from customer care cell of resort after checkin our room to get the feedback for checkin process or other things , which was good.
Rooms: rooms are good, very clean and comfortable. 32´LCDs with DTH service and all other things. Furniture is old but well maintained. All rooms are centrally air-conditioned with nice balcony.
Bathrooms: compare to room bathroom are very small with bath tub... but very clean and have all things.
Pool: nice large size pool with child pool.
Gardens: large well maintained gardens with lots of coconut trees and other threes.
Beach: its a excellent part of the property, private beach with restaurant on the beach.
Food: food is excellent in buffet and other restaurant. In buffet (breakfast, lunch and dinner) u will find ample choice of veg and non veg with great sweet dishes.
Staff: All staff of the resort is very nice and will do everything to make u comfortable. Each one will ask for ur requirements for food or any other thing and make sure that u will get it on time.
Activity: Resort offer great activity centre for children where they can play, do activities see movies etc. Further on daily basis resort offers various activities like beach bollyball, football, fish bazaar, Indian music, rajasthan folk dance etc. Please check activity card for complete list of activities on daily basis.
Overall the property is excellent and staff is very nice...
I will recommend this property to visit at least once to feel the value for money.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Cavelossim on the occasion of my parents' 25th anniversary a few weeks ago. Our group consisted of around 15 people so we had booked a block of rooms for a duration of 3 nights.

The resort should be commended for its outstanding staff, who were courteous and accommodating both during the booking process and during our stay at the property. Royston (Sales Associate) was responsible for our booking and was very helpful through the whole process. The staff went out of their way to fulfill every one of our requests including providing us with a conference room and a projector so we could view a presentation one of my cousins had put together for the occasion.

The location of the property is great, the Cavelossim area is much quieter and cleaner than several of the beaches in North Goa. The beach, which is a short walk from the rooms, was largely visited by patrons from our resort and a few of the other 5 star properties in the same area.

The property is tastefully decorated, it has colonial Portuguese feel to it. The lobby is beautifully designed and has a great view of the pool and the beach. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Our package included meals at the coffee shop. Initially we were apprehensive about the options available at the buffet and thought we would get bored of the same menu by the third day. However, the menu was constantly changed and I don't think we ate the same thing twice, expect for a couple of standard items on the breakfast menu. The quality of the food was great too, some of the best I've ever had at a buffet. Additionally, The Fisherman's Wharf which is one of the best seafood restaurants in Goa is only a short walk away from the hotel. We ate dinner at this restaurant one night and were thoroughly impressed, be sure to ask for a table right by the river.

Members of our group also availed of the other facilities at the resort including the well equipped gym and the spa which specializes in Ayurvedic treatments.

Overall, I'd highly recommend this resort to both Indian and overseas travelers. You won't regret your decision to stay here during your visit to Goa.

Excellent stay for one night. The resort was quite big, open spaced and newly built. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. The staff is very helpful and tries to care of every need. There is in-house shop selling swimming costumes, jogging gear and other stuff. The swimming pool is quite unique with a small green island in the centre. Beach is right next to the resort and there is not much rush on the beach apart from hotel guests who relax under the beach umbrellas provided by the resort. One can have lot of privacy on the beach and can do whatever one's mood. I highly recommend this resort.

had booked for a 3N / 4D stay at this hotel almost 2 months and after reading the mixed bag of comments at tripadvisor didn't know what we were in for. The pickup etc was on time and we were ushered into our rooms even before the 12 noon checkin. The lobby and pool areas were decent however we were in for a bad surprise in the rooms. The room had just no decor- it had a bed, a set of curtains and wooden runners white white walls. That was quite gloomy. The buffet food had a decent menu and nice friendly staff. As some previous reviweres point out, the hotel is actually geared to cater to Russians and they even have some Russian front office staff.

However I have 2 complaint points. First - The new years party was open for all and all drinks prices doubled up for the evening. Even that was fine but theyw ould not allow you to sign for your rooms - who checks into a resort to carry wads of notes around and keep counting cash throughout the evening. The entertainment program was quite sad. The DJ / band could not generate any excitement. Second - the front office desk should be renamed the chaos / inefficient desk. We wanted to check out a day earlier and had presented a voucher to reception which said the same. First the hotel said they cannot arrange for transfers and when I insisted that it was pre-informed they wanted us to checkout by 12 noon, but hey we already prepaid for 3 nights. After around 10 rounds of phoning and personally meeting them the airport transfer was sorted. That was not it, when we finally came to check out the card swipe was not working and my card got charged twice without they generating a charge slip. And if even this was not enough they called me today to ask what time we are checking out???? Hey we checked out yesterday already and I am back in my own city. Will someone end the chaos now....

For the amount of money I paid for this trip I will avoid it like the plague in future...

close to the beach, large place....decent food...average pricing...far from the airport.....slow service...
went for a business trip in march 2009....felt that south goa is now dominated by russians.....very
few indians and other nationalities. nice swimming pool though....
biz center facilities are below average.....internet is damn slow.....booze is reasonably prized
mini bar is crappy......could do with better brands....while they call themselves a five star i think it is at best a 4 star...
hated the room service.....tea took 45 mins to arrive....thats because most blocks are away from the kitchen.....

When you have access to a brilliant beach in South Goa 24/7, any hotel will do! And if the hotel is a great property, all the more better. My wife, I and our five-year old son went to Goa in early November and took a 5-day/6-night package... and we didn't step out of the resort to go sight-seeing at all. We just went one night for dinner at this terrific river-facing seafood restaurant a stone's throw away from the hotel, that's it. Other times we just chilled at the Holiday Inn.

When we first landed, the room we got was not up to my satisfaction - I wanted one on the first floor and not the ground floor. So we were made to wait for a long time to get it, and when it did not come through, we asked for an extra bed because it was not a double bed but two single beds - which would have difficult for our child to sleep. Eventually the bed arrived after several hours. But the staff were nice not to charge us for it. And they were even nicer when they shifted us to a better room upstairs. And then the fun started...

It is quite a large resort. The porch and lobby is rather grand and in the evenings, is a venue for live music performances. The architecture is nice because it has a nice Goan theme around it - but there are lots of sections like the restaurant for instance, where its too kitschy. The room we had was spacious and the view from the balcony afforded a partial glimpse of the sea and lots of glimpses of the lawn. The other options are pool facing. Quality of the room in terms of furnishings, plumbing, furniture, etc however is so-so - it's acceptable and that is it. But all is forgiven when you see the pristine white sands of the private beach and the refreshing blue sea...

We had taken the all-meals option, which is okay if you have come with a huge family. But if you are a compact bunch and have access to a car/bike, then it is worth exploring what the rest of Cavellosim and beyond have to offer. The meals are good and the staff really tries hard to feed you with new varieties everyday, but you know, there are some nice restaurants out there with a different ambience. Recommend you opt for a modified american plan where you could take one meal at the resort and one anywhere outside you fancy. In fact the hotel itself has a decent seafood restaurant on the beach that has a charming ambience but the food there is not included in the package. It is only buffet that is included in the package.

There is a large pool and yes, there's a kiddie pool too. And all the infrastructure in terms of pool balls, beach towels, etc are in place. There are deck chairs on the beach where you can lounge in all day and ask for beer from the seafood restaurant. A cheaper option is to walk a few minutes on either side of the beach to the shacks and watch the restless sea.

The kiddie room is worth only a few hours' visit and there is not much activity for children. But when you have the beautiful sea and a safe pool, you are sorted. Add some good service and helpful staff and it makes for great Holiday-inng!

Room Tip: The lawn-facing higher floors afford you a view of the sea
