We stayed here in November 2011.

It was an incredibly large hotel which we loved and was in a great setting and very well kept.

The beach area is really nice and feels private although it is a public beach. The pool area is really great too.

Outside on the beach, you can take a 30s walk and go to Mike's Shack or Betty's shack for some non-hotel snacks. Both places do great food and have beach parties on Tuesdays and Wednesdays which are really good fun. The food is much nicer and better priced than in the hotel.

The hotel itself is beautiful but the rooms do feel a little dated (that is not to say that they are not clean - they are very well kept) but sometimes you think that it would be nice to update some of the features in the room - although maybe it is the charm of the place!

Breakfast is fantastic and given the choices of the local food from the beach or in the nearby area, I wouldnt recommend going full-board or anything like this.

Staff were really very nice from front desk through to the porters. Poolside service is a little slow though although we didnt do that often - it was much nicer to go down to the beach and get some drinks from there.

The beach is lovely, water is perfect and it is not over-crowded at all. There are watersports there if that is your thing!

We also walked up to the Leela Hotel which is a top range hotel to see what the fuss is about. To be honest, for the 3x price, im glad we stayed at the Holiday Inn!

There are a few day trips that you can do such as Mike's and Betty's boat trips which are really nice but i think you will be able to spend most of your time chilling! Shopping in the area isnt great but thats not why we came here so we didnt mind!

Make sure you try the local Feni! Lethal!

The only downside was that the spa was awful and the manager a complete idiot. We opted for the most expensive treatment in there but the facilities are very dated and not worth the money. Dont bother.

Enjoy your trip!

Beekay

Room Tip: There are only 2 floors but try to make you are not on the ground floor nor facing the pool!

Very large and specious property

Pluses -
Private Beach of the resort
Large Swimming Pool
Great Room Service
Airport Pick-up and Drop
Good Food

I would recommend this resort for personal trip with family or business trip as well. There are large conference rooms available with arrangements of Discs etc.

Just got back from a relaxing vacation to Goa along with my husband and 2.5 year old child. Was keen on South Goa and Holiday Inn was one of the few hotels available, so we booked it. And I am definitely glad that I did.

Positives
1. The location is great - just by the beach. The beach for all practical purposes is private (shared between the Leela hotel and Holiday Inn) and has deck chairs to relax.
2. The property, though a little old is very well maintaned. The lawns are sprawling and great for children to run around and also for people to put out deck chairs and just laze.
3. There are loads of activities for children - an outdoor play area, the pool, an indoor play area (This is not so great - but good as an addition). In addition the hotel has some activities lined up - like movies etc. In the indoor activity area one can leave children with the inhouse attendent.
4. The restaurants are good - 'The fish grill", by the beach doles out drinks and food that can be enjoyed while relaxing on the deck chairs. The Fig and Olive mediteranian restaurant is also decent.
5. The staff is good and willing to please.

Negatives
1. We stayed at the Garden facing rooms on the 1st floor. Found the room decor fairly detated with if I may say fairly ugly furniture. They definitely need to upgrate the rooms to match the rest of the hotel.
2. Not really a major negative for us - But the hotel is located an hour away from the airport.
3. The breakfast buffet spread is not that great. The fruits and cornflakes used can definitely be of better quality.

Room Tip: 1. Rooms on the 1st floor are better and offer a better view. 2. One can avoid the all in package w...

This beach is better than most other beach resorts. The waves are not rough and water is cleaner. Kids loved it, spent hours together. The resort is clean and beautiful. Rooms are good. Accomodate extra bed without any fuss. Mantainence is good.

Best Things - Beach, Excellent choice for family. Day trip to Goa - good one. Food nice and they adjusted wrt what kiddies wanted.

Avg - boat cruise in goa / casino

Not so good : room service. Rates have gone higher and higher each time.

Overall this is one place would definetely like to come back to without doubt. Solid trip.

Room Tip: Nearer to beach the better, specially the suites

Stayed here for a night, and wished I had stayed a lot longer! We went in with medium expectations, expecting typical Holiday Inn treatment. However, our stay turned out to be outstanding due to great location, outstanding service, great property, awesome room and good food.
The resort is located on one of the nicest beaches on Goa - very clean, wide, secluded with relatively little crowd. The property is high end, with extremely spacious gardens all around (with beautiful migratory birds), nice pool area, kids' play area, sun bathing areas, tennis facilities and several outdoor and indoor eating options. This makes it a great place to chill out and just relaaax without having to go anywhere. In spite of the secluded location, there is enough of the basic necessities available nearby, including a couple of beach shacks right outside (the one we tried was the best food we had in Goa!), some water sports on the beach, and a small market with all essentials available at the hotel door step. The lobby area is nice and airy, so you start getting great vibes as soon as you enter. Couldn't have asked for a better location or setting.
The property is aging a little bit, but upkeep was great, and everything (inside and out) was spanking clean and well maintained.
There was a lot of activity going on the property at night, including a couple of small concerts (the noise from which luckily ended before bed time). There was also a fairly full schedule of other activities all day long, which we unfortunately didn't get a chance to try out. The awesome pool and the beach were enough to keep us occupied during our stay!
Our experience with the service was very nice. The lady at check in was very hospitable and personable, and made sure we got a nice room and personally saw us off when we were leaving!

All in all, a truly fantastic stay, and I am looking forward to my next visit to this resort!

Room Tip: Sea Facing Deluxe rooms have out of this world views. However ground floor rooms may not have enough...

I m going back home tomoro with my kids, husband n a nanny after spending the best five days of my life. I think this was d best decision made by me to choose the kids suite here which has a separate area in the room that accomodates a bunk bed(apt for my two sons, 2 n 4 yrs age) and their own tv, tatasky n DVD player. Take lot of cartoon CDs with u if u hav kids as doremon which is quite famous with kids is missing here. Activity room for kids need major upgradation n I expect few women staff to take care of kids. I had nanny with me so didn't bother me much. Few ppl hu made this vacation so special were from room service n food n beverages. Basant,George, prakash, Praveen,Rishi,Manoj,Allistor-U were amazing! M impressed:) I m coming again sooon. Not to miss Navjot n Gabby from casino. Guys u were d best.
