I am giving an excellent rating for the Nautilus Hotel - overall, it was a relaxing stay and represented good value for money. This was also my first trip 'Solo'.
I was there for a short 4 night break in early October.
The Food
I went All Inclusive, which was well worth the extra cost. The food was pretty good I thought - I'm not sure why other people on this website are complaining! Sure, it's not Michelin quality, but I wouldn't expect that. Naturally, it was largely Greek-cuisine, so if you're looking for your pie and chips, then find somewhere else. I thought the food was good quality and, as you serve yourself, you can eat to your heart's content.
The Accommodation
The accommodation was basic, granted, but importantly it was clean. The walls do seem a little thin - it was fairly easy to hear people in the other room. So much so, that one night I actually heard an English couple having a bit of a domestic! Otherwise though, I slept well.
The Facilities
Out the back of the hotel, facing the sea, is a pool with a bar (and yes, All Inclusive means unlimited drinks!). The pool was clean and the number of sunbeds seemed to easily meet the capacity of the hotel, although I did visit out-of-season, so it might be busier during peak times. There was a pool table and a lounge area inside too.
The Staff
Very friendly and helpful staff - couldn't fault them. Then again, Greek people always seem pleasant, so I was hardly surprised!
The Other Guests
For Solo's, I feel this is an important thing to comment on. I found that the large majority of the people there were either middle-aged couples or retired couples. In fact, I reckon I was the only 20-something guest there. You will not likely find many 'party-goers' here, which was exactly what I wanted.
The hotel seems to cater mainly to German and English tourists, although there were probably more of the former than the latter. I will say this - I actually found that the English couples in their 50s were a little embarrassing to be around. I'm not sure why, but English tourists seem to be just plain stupid - they struggle with simple concepts such as 'controlling alcohol consumption' and 'keeping the noise down' (the couple arguing throughout the night is a case in point!). Clearly, I was unlucky enough to stay at the same time with the simple-minded 'Brexit-lot'.
The German tourists on the other hand were much more civilised - so naturally, I spent a lot of time with them! Regardless, it's hardly the hotel's fault, or any hotel's fault, for the 'luck of the draw' with it's guests.
Summary
Overall, it was a great stay and I would probably go again. If you're looking for a relaxing holiday by yourself and you're nervous about doing so, then look no further! The hotel really has everything you need if you go All Inclusive.
