“Breathtaking”
Reviewed June 12, 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We knew we were on to a winner with this villa when collecting the hire care at the airport and even the hire desk lady knew of the villa and its views!

We have visited Fiskardo in the north of Kefalonia for 6 out of the last 8 years and always admired this outstanding villa on a rocky headland overlooking Aliates Beach, so when we discovered it was available for private rental our minds were made up. Arrangements with Catherine were made and I found her exceptionally easy to deal with and most charming in person when she met us at the villa on our late arrival at 10:30pm! Service indeed. This doesn't feel like a rental property - we have stayed in many before. This feels like home, even down to the ornaments, library, well stocked cutlery drawer and dish washing tablets provided!

But the star of this show is the villa itself. The images on these pages alone really cannot do it justice. It is all that and more. The aspect, the views, the quality of materials used and the tranquillity all add up to a memorable experience we want to repeat.

Treat yourself like a film star! Expensive? Yes. Value for money? Without doubt. Should you book? Do it now… before someone else does

PS Be sure to visit the little taverna down the hill at early evening for a cold Mythos and a simple Greek meal.

“Sunset at its best”
Reviewed June 5, 2012 for a stay in May 2012

It just isn't possible to captivate the villa's stunning atmosphere in pictures or words. The view from the spacious sundeck offers the greatest sunsets imaginable and we missed the sounds of the lapping waves as soon as we continued our travel to lefkas. The villa offers everything for a luxurious indivual retreat and is also perfectly situated to explore the beautiful kefalonian coastline by car, quad, boat, kayak... Additionally Catherine was the perfect trip advisor, keeping us updated on trip schedules and finding solutions to all our inquiries instantly.

“Absolutely Amazing”

Don't know where to start...

We found the Villa online and inquired about booking and was email directly back from Catherine the owner stating that the villa was fully booked.. We were gutted.. However by some miracle there was a cancellation from 1 of Catherine's returning customers.

The communication from Catherine was excellent, giving us advise on flights, car hire, the extra cook (will comment on that in a bit).. All which was extremely helpful.

We arrived at Villa Alto Mare at 1pm to be greeted by Catherine who took us through the side door by the pool which lead onto the terrace.. And was blown away by the view (no photo does it justice). Catherine gave us a whistle tour of the villa showing us everything we needed to know. The Villa is amazing through and through, clean, modern with a twist and very comfortable.

On our 1st Night we had the extra cook Katerina who is amazing. She charges 50 euro's plus the food which she purchases from the local markets and cooks you a traditional greek meal, and believe me when I say it was so lovely and amazing value for money.

Well I could go on and on.. but will hope you will go and stay at this Villa as it is possibly one of the most memorable places I have stayed and I would like to say I am quite well travelled (it even beats the Maldives for me). I would re-book this Villa year after year.

Thank you so much.
