It is a testament to this hotels' charm that after stumbling across it 3 years ago in a guide book we have come back every year since. Perched up on the slopes of La Iruela the location is perfect as a base to venture out into the Sierra de Cazorla and if trekking is not your thing then the views from the terrace over the olive groves are equally as impressive. The hotel itself has everything you could wish for, spotless rooms with powerful showers, TV, WIFI, swimming pool, gardens, bar, restaurant (with great home cooked food) & local wine but the main reason we keep coming back is because of the hosts: José & Mercedes.

Although my Spanish is average at best they were kind, patient and genuinely welcoming to all of us. You can tell they work extremely hard as they are a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike but it's a testament to their hospitality that we got the feeling of being part of the family even when they were busy. Nothing seemed too much trouble and often they would stop to chat or recommend things to do or try out. Mercedes is the very essence of warmth and smiles and José knows the park like the back of his hand and recommended some excellent Senderos Antiguos to us that were not in any of the guides. They are both incredibly generous with both their hospitality and their time and although it's slightly off the beaten track, it's definitely worth making the effort to get here. I can't recommend this place enough and will be visiting again next year.

Room tip: Ask if the rooms with the balconies are available to get the stunning views over the olive groves

We stayed here for two nights and everything was excellent. We were accommodated on a nice and comfortable triple room with an extra bed (we have two kids). It had a private terrace with a very nice view of the surrounding olive fields. Breakfast were also very good. We also took dinner at the hotel restaurant a couple of nights and the food was remarkably good, with a fair offering of delicious typical dishes. Finally, the family running the hotel were incredibly attentive and friendly. In summary, a very recommendable hotel. We will come back.

We have just returned from a five night stay at La Finca Mercedes (recommended by my Brother). I cannot fault this little hotel in any way. Very clean, comfortable beds, air con, WiFi, parking, bar, just about everything you might need. Superb home cooked food is served at all mealtimes and the wine was also very good, but best of all has to be the MOST amazing panoramic view you could wish for. To be able to eat your breakfast, lunch, dinner and see this fabulous view from your room (make sure you ask for a room with the view) is a real treat. The pool and gardens are very tranquil and it's a 20 min stroll down to the town of Cazorla. The owners are such a lovely family especially senora herself, she is so happy and cheerful and makes you feel so at home, she gave us a bottle of the hotels "vino de la casa" when we checked out and some fruit for the journey! I cannot reccommend this gem of a place highly enough.

Room tip: Ask for a room at the rear with the view

This small hotel is situated 1,6 km from the center of Cazorla, so an 18 min walk is to be expected. Later after having been walking in the nearby hills the whole day, I took a taxi that to/from the village and ended paying 6 & 7 €. Pool area did not look in good shape, but You can eat on the restaurants terrasse or sit outside on your own. Basic facilities and a good night sleep. Friendly serviceminded staff.
