We have just returned from a week at the Emerald with our seven year old and four month old. The appartment is spacious and beautifully decorated to resemble its victorian heritage. Location is great and the sea views from the lounge and bedroom are fabulous. Thank you Janet for the champagne and chocolates upon our arrival and thanks to Sandra and Phill who met us with the keys and were on hand for anything we needed.
we would definitely recommend this rental and are already thinking about when we can return in the near future. Thanks again.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Emerald. The rooms were large, clean and tastefully decorated. The town is lovely with many pubs and restaurants, Gardens and walks. We were able to hike to the North York Moor National park as well as make a short trip to Whitby. Wading in the sea in the afternoon as it came in over the warm sand was a wonderful experience.
The kitchen was well set up,and the only recommendation would be to add some more spices.
My family of five and two dogs have just returned from a fantastic stay in The Emerald, Saltburn by the Sea. The apartment is beautifully decorated, comfortable, very spacious, fully equipped and quiet - perfect for our large family. On arrival we were met by a lovely lady Sandra who handed over the keys and welcomed us on the owner’s behalf with a bottle of bubbly and chocolates! Everything in the apartment seemed to be fantastic from the soft comfy beds to the powerful Mira shower. The kids loved the triple bunk beds in the funky butterfly room with multi coloured chandelier. The extra dog blankets and the warm dog/child shower in the rear yard came in very handy after our days on the beach. Parking was never a problem despite it being the children’s school holidays, we always managed to park straight outside. We really dropped on for the weather and had a few days on the beach (which was located just across the road and down a path 2 mins away) and the surfers were great to watch. This was our first time in Saltburn and we will defiantly return, the beach is beautiful and we all enjoyed walking along the sea front and down the long pier which has recently been restored. I would definantly recommend the Sea View restaurant, the fish and chips there are amazing and worth the queue! Chocolinis chocolate shop is worth a visit and also the old Victorian Cliff lift with its old stained glass windows and oldie worldy waiting room which is like stepping back in time. All along the top road are rows of tall Victorian houses looking out to see and off this road to the left is a lovely woodland walk, the Italian Gardens and the Tea Rooms which are also worth a visit. The children’s park and miniature railway are also along this path that leads to the sea front. All in all a lovely apartment and location, thank you Janet for a lovely stay.
