“Great people, disappointing accommodation”

The best thing about this place has to be Ann and Michael who welcomed us on our arrival. Ann had made scones and left them for us with jam and milk for our tea and Michael had lit the fire which was a lovely thought. As hosts they couldn't have been more enthusiastic in their welcome. To be honest the rest of the stay was disappointing. The location is great and there is lots to do in the area. We loved dungarvon which has a lovely harbour area and plenty of nice restaurants and bars. Sea spray itself has wonderful views and plenty of space but it is really tired and badly in need of a make over.
There were handles missing or falling off cupboards, the shaving light and vanity light in the bedroom didn't work, the heater in the bathroom was broken, the cold water tap in the kitchen broke on day 2, the bed was awful - you could feel the springs poking through the thin mattress, the pillows were really hard and the duvet really thin. We had to take the duvet off one of the other beds and use 2 to keep warm. The kitchen is adequately equipped and the appliances seemed ok although we only used the dishwasher. The bathroom was really dated and although there was a power shower it wasn't great and the tiles around the bottom of the shower tray looked mouldy. There were no scatter cushions on the sofas in the lounge so it wasn't very comfy to sit in the evenings and the whole house felt very bleak. With a bit of Money spent on it to bring it up to date this would be a great place but I wouldn't book again as it is which is a shame as the owners and location were lovely.

My husband, myself , my 2 teenage daughters and their teenage friend had the most wonderful stay. Ann and Michael were incredibly helpful! Best of all is arriving after a long night of travelling via car and ferry to freshly baked scones and jam and milk ready for a cup of tea. The teenagers were not bored once. You are close to Waterford city so if you want a bit of the city its literally abt half hr away. The views from our cottage were beautiful and serene. We had a seaview and were in the most beautiful countryside...fabulous walks and beaches. My daughter went horse riding nearby and thoroughly enjoyed her 2 hr trek.
Home away from home, cosy and comfortable.
Can't wait to visit again x Thank you Ann and Michael
