Staying at Mikiterio was a definite highlight of our trip. Mauricio and Clara were helpful beyond our expectations. Contact with them before our arrival provided us with great information. Once we arrived we enjoyed staying on the crater lake and wandering throughout the small town outside our gates. We felt extremely safe and welcomed by everybody we came into contact with. We climbed Santa Ana Volcano and went to the town of Santa Ana.
Mauricio and Clara’s hotel was spotless and Marco and Sonja (who help take care of the property) were amazing. They helped us gather fruit from the properties trees and got us the famous El Salvador papusas.
Words cannot express how amazing Mikiterio was!More

Otherworldly views in El Salvador

We only stayed for a weekday but we had the best time ever. The house is clean, modern and beautiful. Sonya made a delicious lunch that included a salad, chicken with raisins and spaghetti with black olives. The owner Mauricio took us for an amazing boat ride, which may or may not be included next time you go, but Mauricio and his family were amazing hosts.
There is also a tandem kayak available to be used for free. We will definitely plan to return soon.
