The hotel is super old, nothing has been refurbished for years. Rooms are very dark with only one light. Air con is ancient hence not really working but the rooms on the street side are too noisy to open the windows. Very dusty and not very clean. The staff are not friendly at all. Really no value for money giving how expensive it is compared to what you get. Basically rubbish hotel. Don't go there!

We stayed three nights at the Villa Goetzen and also dined a couple of nights at the excellent restaurant. Great seafood and nice presentation. We liked our room on the second floor even though it was situated on the side of a very busy road - the windows have double panes and thick wooden shutters. It's a great base for Venice - no need to drive into Venice - the owner recommended a parking lot (about 30 minutes drive from the hotel) from where we took a boat into the city - and exploring the Veneto countryside including the 16th century Palladio villas. We also visited Chioggia - a working fishing town with a fish market and a nice walk along the waterfront.

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floor and on the riverside are the best.

Along the Brenta and close to the charming center of Dolo, this hotel and restaurant offers a good choice to visit the surroundings. The room on the second floor (202) was spacious and with a view on the Brenta. Very quiet, cleaned perfectly every day - and for a good price in this area !

We ate one evening in the restaurant and were a bit disappointed (the proposed antipasti seemed to have been re-cooked), but the fried sole was perfect.

Instead of staying in Venice with its crowds and high prices, we decided to stay in Brenta Riviera and day trip into Venice. Dolo is perfectly situated for this and we were happy to discover a nice family run hotel. Villa Goetzen is not very spacious, but very cozy and the owners were able to accommodate our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) very comfortably. Pricing was acceptable, but we were traveling off season, so in season it will be steeper. The bus stop was a couple of minutes walk from the Villa and in 35-40 min we were in Piazzale Roma in Venice (even though the bus got crowded as we got closer to Venice). Overall, both the town of Dolo and Villa Goetzen come highly recommended.
