Review of Aramis Hotel
2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jul 3, 2017via mobile
That is all what to say about this hotel. It looks colonial style at the reception, but nobody sits there. Spacious room, but the architect was drunk I presume: I not understand the meaning of two sliding doors in a corner to separate the bathroom from the bedroom

I always stay at this hotel every time I visit Nakhon Sawan. Up until now I think that my mother and I have stayed here for more than a dozen times. We had a nice experience every time before our Feb2017 and this last visit.

I always call ahead to reserve the room directly and confirmed the room rate, which I've always get what they promised. Twin/Double bed room for 990 THB PER NIGHT. In our previous stay, we really like the atmosphere and friendly staffs. But it seems that I see less familiar-face staff.

This time, I called two days before arrival. They confirmed me on the phone that I had booked Double room for one night at a price of 990THB, which I did ask them twice to confirm the price.

But when I arrived at the hotel, the reception staff told me that I had booked the room at 1290 THB rate. I insisted that when I booked I was informed by the reservation staff at 990THB rate.

The reception staffs all looked disbelief and kinda rude when they insist that I didn't confirmed the right rate. Luckily...?? They still have the 990THB room available so I got what I actually reserved for.

They didn't apologize for their mistake or my inconvenience. They didn't even smile as they should be greeting hotel guests. May be they are new at their job because I don't recognize them from our previous stay.

With that being said, the room is spotless, spacious despite small double 5 ft. bed. This time I was given 4th floor room which is okay. Working Wifi.Nothing to complain about the room & facilities.

From my last stay in Feb 2017 , I was given the 5th floor room which has a lot to complain. Bad Wifi. Bad smell in the bathroom all day.

Oh, on the 4th-5th floor I didn't find that the pigeons are annoying though.

Tips for others : If you want to stay in this hotel, I suggest you call ahead and confirm the price 3 times and more. Ask for the room on the front side of the hotel to avoid the sound of night pub songs.

For me, next time I'll find another hotel may be there are better hotel.

We stayed at Aramis during the Peak of the Chinese New Year, and it was packed!

The façade of the hotel stands out, compared to the other competitors. But, there's a catch--- the facilities are mostly for show purposes only. This hotel is kinda Like North Korea, they show you what you want to see.

LOCATION:
- Strategic!
- Walking distance from the temple
- Heart of the Chinese Festival

SWIMMING POOL:
- small & shallow; looks more like a highly sophisticated pond
- situated outside the main front door of the hotel. In between the restaurant and the main hotel building. It literally faces the parking lot.
- It's almost useless and extremely unsanitary, because of where it is situated.

RESTAURANT:
- beautiful, both in and out
- Are they open? - yes!
- Are they open to serve customers? -No!
- They only serve breakfast buffet.

BREAKFAST BUFFET:
- Extremely basic: feel free to see the attached picture.
- All displayed in a quarter-size (1/4) of the normal stainless buffet serving trays, despite the hotel being packed with guests. (by they way, they look a lot in the attached pix, but trust me- they're not!)
- Cold food
- Because the restaurant is packed, the staff just displayed the sliced bread in its original packaging. -that's fine tho!

LOBBY:
- Very Clean
- Beautiful decorations
- Spacious; lots of sofas & sitting area
- They sell cheap beverages! You can just grab one from the fridge and pay at the front desk counter.
- The Lift is not bad either, clean & full of mirrors! =)

STAFF:
- There were multiple Front Office Personnel, however, not everyone seemed to know they were supposed to know.

- Example #1: I bought a root beer, paid for me and was charged almost double the price. I had to take a picture of the price, so she would give me a refund of whatever excess I paid for.

- Example #2: One FO lady, didn't know that there were 4 of us in the room. My daughters, my husband and myself. She indirectly accused me of not registering my kids and asked to pay for their breakfast, when in fact, they didn't coz they always wake up very late, especially during holidays. I was ballistics- I told her to check the registration paper and the reservation email I sent!

- Example # 3: Since there were 4 of us in the room, and only 2 pillows; 1 for each bed, I requested for 2 more pillows. They said, they didn't have any extras, but I could rent a pillow for 50 Baht each! WHAT?! PILLOWS FOR RENT?! (Amongst the many places we've been to, never have I experienced this before!)

- The bellboys are deadbeats! There were about 2-3 of them. There was only 1 who helped in opening the door and assisted in parking. The other 2 were just there, playing with their mobile phones or if not, were just sitting. One afternoon, when I went back to the hotel, my arms were full of shopping bags, the 2 lazy bellboys who were around, didn't even bother to help in opening the door. They just looked at me and went back to what they did best - play in their mobile phones. They seem to have lost their compassion for others.

ROOMS:
- Very Spacious
- Spotless Clean
- Nice beds
- Free Water
- Working Desk & Wall-mounted TV
- Toilet was also very clean and they have all the basic toiletries, plus hot and cold shower.
- I LIKED IT!

Would I check-in here again, if we were to go back to Nakhon Sawan? I would, but this wouldn't be my first choice and only if the other hotels were fully booked.

Would I recommend it?
- For a night, Sure! Just a piece of advise. The ONLY thing that you should expect is a nice spacious, clean room.
- If you are a person who likes to have more than ONE pillow, look the other way.
- If you like literal authenticity, look the other way.
- If you like good food, look the other way.
- If you cannot speak Thai, look the other way.

A reasonable location, good if you are driving and ok if you like walking. Many pigeons outside the hotel windows and if you want a room with a view, ( forget it) the rooms are very clean and spacious but the lighting is very poor especially in The bathrooms. The breakfast is reasonable. There is parking space but sometimes the hotel staff have to be on hand to organise things. All in all I think this hotel is overpriced for what you get but I have stayed in worse

Room tip: Ask for a room where pigeons will not wake you up first thing in the morning!

The rooms was ok and clean. The bathroom was too dark. The pigeons outside of the windows were very annoying. The breakfast was average. I've been told that this hotel would be probably the best in the town.

It's a pleasant clean hotel in Nakhon Sawan. Staff are nice people. Only slight downside it is not really close to any of the major shopping centers. But a tuk tuk to get there is cheap. I still consider this probably the best hotel in Nakhon Sawan. Tell em Steve sent you for the best rate.
