My visit to Dunnville's Doslea Diner for their fish and chips proved to be an excellent decision. I have difficulty eating fried foods so tend to stay away from them, yet every few years I go on the prowl for fish and chips. Where to start? My plate arrived in a timely fashion and I was astonished to see the serving size. The cook provided food that was piping hot: two large portions of tender fish enveloped in a crispy batter, homemade tartar sauce and coleslaw and hand cut fries. Coffee was extra but it was a bottomless cup.
The service was exceptional. There were two waiters and while each had her own tables to tend to, they worked seamlessly and in tandem to provide any table with whatever it needed. I must say it left me feeling quite spoiled.
The owners were friendly and engaging and shared plans of upgrading both menu and decor in the future.
I will be back.
