Has all of the amenities. Clean, cozy, comfortable and within walking distance to downtown shopping and restaurants. Manager helpful and friendly. Easy parking. Happy with our experience and management of our reservation.

Great motel with air conditioning woes

The best: Scott, the manager, was very welcoming, polite and helpful. He even provided us with a kettle as we are tea fanatics.
The motel location is great:across the canal and lock 32, central and within walking distance to the entire city.
Our room, 12, was spotless.
The so, so: the pillows were kind of lumpy.
The seriously problematic: the air conditioning was very noisy and didn't provide sufficient cooling.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay at the New Rockland. Scott was friendly and accommodating and his restaurant suggestions were excellent. We loved the location as we were able to walk everywhere in Bobcaygeon that we wished to visit.
We will definitely stay here again!

Right from the start we were greeted by Scott—very welcoming, knowledgeable of the area and helpful, friendly and chatty. He really does enjoy his guests.
My husband and I stayed in room #9. You had to be careful not to bang your shins when you stepped into the room but, the king size bed was very comfortable. Maybe add an extra pillow, or two? The room, and washroom were really clean and the large shower was lovely. There was a coffee maker with cups and glasses, a fridge (great to bring back a few local brews), and microwave. There was a bit of a television situation in our room but, hopefully that has been solved.
It is an older motel that has been very nicely renovated, with a nice view of the canal and boats. Close to everything in Bobcaygeon so you can walk everywhere. A must is Bigley’s. Also, a good starting point for other towns of interest in the area.
Would definitely stay here again.

Our rooms were very clean and Scott was very friendly and helpful. Great location...within walking distance (a couple of blocks) to various restaurants, grocery stores, Tim Hortons, LCBO, beer store and shopping. We were traveling on motorcycles and Scott supplied us with towels/rags to clean the bikes. We sat outside on the picnic tables and were able to listen to the music in the park on Thursday night. Great stay...will definitely be returning!
Room tip: Room 1 is a great size with view of canal.

We had stayed here many times before COVID and enjoyed it. It now has new owners. We were very happy with the staff, and the friendly way you are treated. They are very helpful. A good place to stay. There is good parking and they are real close to the main street. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. You can not go wrong!
