“Like being at the helm of a small ship.”

We arrived in the dark following a long, slow drive in busy post christmas traffic up the M1. The cottage was welcoming, with lots of fuel for the wood burning stove, and we were soon relaxing by its heat. Waking before dawn to watch the stunning views from the top bedroom reveal themselves was sublime.
In a place this beautiful, well equipped and cosy, it's hard to move from the comfy sofas to explore further than the local cliff tops.

What a lovely stay.Suited the wide age range of family aged 14 to 75.Walks from the door!!Enough adventure for the teenagers and young adults on the beach and the rocks.Lots to do nearby too if you can drag self away from the cliffs.Even if weather was bad would still be enjoyable.Lots of fuel for fire and detailed instructions. Some hot spots for WiFi but spent an hour or so in the coffee hutch one afternoon Flamborough which seemed to satisfy the brood.Loved the view from the cottage and all the friendly walkers.Have given 4 plus stars only because owner is in process of updating.the property.

We had a glorious week here. The cottage is cosy, very well equipped and immaculately maintained. The location is absolutely stunning! Thornwick Bay is literally yards from the back garden and there are incredible views all along the coast. Lovely clifftop walks in both directions and sea birds in abundance. We saw puffins in the bay below and there are constant flights of gannets going to and from the nearby reserve at Bemprton. We were also lucky enough to see dolphins off Flamborough Head one afternoon.
Flamborough village is one mile away and has all the essential shops, pubs and fish and chip shops so there is no need to go very far. Information from the owner before our stay was very helpful.
We would certainly recommend this property and hope to return.

“Magnificent views - just idyllic”

I stayed at Jackobob for an early Spring break, trying to get away from city - and work - stresses. It's very easy to get to but takes you entirely away from everything! The cottage itself is homely and well-equipped. And the views from the living room and front bedroom are simply stunning. You'll see the many walkers go past as you sip your glass of wine/cup of hot chocolate! And that's what it's like - walking, visiting the farms, going to local pubs or just reading a book and enjoying the view. Highly recommend!

An amazing place with stunning views along the cliffs towards Bempton, Filey and beyond. Very comfortable accomodation, ideal location for walking, views, or just relaxing. Wonderful sunrise one morning. Already planning the next visit!

“Idyllic hideaway”

This cottage is set on a beautiful clifftop overlooking Thornwick bay, which is within walking distance of Flamborough town. It was very spacious for me and my partner, and well equipped. The best thing about Jackobob are the breathtaking views from each window, especially the upstairs bedroom, where you wake up to an expansive sea view. I visited in January which was a great time to visit as you can make use of the cosy roaring fire in the living room. The cliff top walks allow you to take in the nature and wildlife of the area. At night, there are an array of local pubs to sample - I'd recommend the rose and crown for an excellent home cooked meal. Can't fault this idyllic hideaway!
