We loved many things about Bare Oaks. Being a family with two children aged 9 and 6, we want to see plenty of facilities for children, many other children for our children to play with, plus adults with similar interests and family values that we have. We were not disappointed. The playground facilities are amazing! There are lots of ponds for the kids to hunt frogs and fish, great beach for building sand castles, canoes and paddle boards, bike trails, pool tables and ping pong tables inside, a nice sized pool that is solar heated to a comfortable temperature, plus lots of other children in our children's age group. We had no problem finding a teen to babysit for us at night so we could go to the club house and enjoy a couple dinner out and nice adult conversation with others who we had met. An evening around the campfire rounded out the day nicely.

The campsites provided both power and water and quite a bit of space for either tents, a camper or an RV.

We will be taking many more camping trips to Bare Oaks.
I spent a lot of time on the beach volleyball court and then spent time in the sauna removing the pain from my body! Jumping from sauna to pool in the cool evening is always a great time!

Bare Oaks is a wonderful place to visit for those who are comfortable with or wish to try a clothing free experience with like minded people of all ages. The Staff are friendly and helpful. The park is well maintained, clean and organized. The campers from those who have extended stays during the summer months to those visiting for a few days or a week or two are most welcoming and hospitable.

The parks owner embraces the beauty of and respect for nature by offering walking trails, a wonderful pond to swim in or sunbathe at all while we as visitors watch the many bird species that have nested within the confines of the park.

A heated outdoor pool, a newly installed extra large hot tub to excellent food services from the kitchen as guests and members relax on the outdoor patio on a warm summers eve round out yet another wonderful day,

Members look out for each other’s children while spontaneous campfires spring up as dusk settles at the end of another beautiful day as we cook our hotdogs, sing silly songs or tell stories of “when I was a kid’.

Our children spend many hours playing on advanced playground equipment with new found friends who don’t ever need to worry about getting their clothes dirty. They can also make awesome sand castles or hunt for frogs that are released back into the wild once the excitement of the catch is over.
Bare Oaks is a great place to relax, to play, to make new friendships while enjoying the beauty of the nature that surrounds the camper.

My wife and I tried Bare Oaks last month and I couldn't help but be disappointed. She wasn't relaxed--just bored. Although cheaper than a hotel, the "resort" had less to offer than a regular camping trip. We're in our '30s and while I'm pretty open--everyone was 55+. Our campsite was packed in with other trailers, RVs and tents. I didn't feel I was close to nature at all. No space, no freedom, no amenities, no food, no fun all for the added plus of dropping my shorts. I don't think so . . .

Naturism is more than just taking your clothes off. It is a life philosophy with physical, psychological, environmental, social and moral benefits. While there are people of all ages at Bare Oaks, if a visitor's desire is to be surrounded by young nimble bodies they will indeed be disappointed. A quick review of our website will confirm that we have many activities and amenities. It is true that the foodservice in our restaurant has been limited to weekends. But for 2010, our restaurant will be open 7 days per week for lunch and dinner from Victoria day to Labour day. Our 50 acres are mostly covered with natural wilderness so it is nearly impossible not feel close to nature. Finally, we frequently receive unsolicited compliments specifically about how clean and well maintained our facilities are. So the low rating on that scale is particularly surprising.

I felt that it was joyful to run around naked. There are men women and children are all naked together at the camp.

When you run into someone you know remember, they are just as neked as you are.

Also, after a while of being there, you stop looking at other guys getinal areas.

Fun Expirience.

P.S. Just go NUDE!!!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park is a year-round naturist park near Toronto in Canada where the entire family can experience traditional naturist values in a modern setting. We are nestled among the natural wilderness of the Ontario Greenbelt and Oak Ridges Moraine. Our varied landscape includes open spaces, forests, ponds, streams and a small lake. We also have many recreational facilities. Our clubhouse provides year-round amenities including saunas and a whirlpool. Bare Oaks offers day-use memberships and seasonal campsites but also welcomes visitors and travellers. Some might use the terms nudist and nudism to describe us and what we do. But we prefer naturist and naturism because our creed is so much more than just taking your clothes off. It is a life philosophy with physical, psychological, environmental, social and moral benefits. We go beyond a mere recreational pursuit and promote ethical naturism. We endeavour to live a naturist life and nudity is key to body acceptance and an integral part of our naturist philosophy. As such, we are not clothing-optional. Clothing is worn only for protection. We give visitors a chance to adjust but everyone is expected make a decision as to whether they want to be naturists or not.Located between Toronto and the gateway to Ontario's cottage country, it is the perfect location to stay while visiting Toronto. A short drive south on Highway #404 gets you into Toronto in about 30 minutes. ... more   less
