Broholm Manor House
Reviewed 7 September 2015

We stayed at broholm for our wedding anniversary and we've booked one of a suite in a main building. My husband said it is one of a best place to stay at so we'd like to try it out. The receptionist gave us a very brief introduction regarding the place and we have to explore the rest of the estate ourselves. They served afternoon tea or coffee by the main building and that's where most of the guest prefers to enjoy it as well. We choose the reding room as it's look cosy and try out the blue room for the second day to have our afternoon tea. We've been served by a friendly waitress Natasha (pardon if I misspelled her name) during our afternoon tea also dinner time in a restaurant across from the main building. She's very attentive and friendly and we felt well taken care of during our meals time. The breakfast served in a room next to the restaurant every morning. The food they served for dinner was fantastic and delicious, you'd not disappointed to book a table for dinner there. If only the owner of broholm put more care and love for the place, I'm sure it'll be a beautiful place to stay for the night or two. And what makes us disappointed is that, aside from the estate, the lady that supposed to take us for horseback riding canceled our appointment last minute as we've both already imagined to celebrate our wedding anniversary with horseback riding in the vicinity. But I guess we'll have to try that for next time. Overall, it is worthy to go to broholm for the restaurant as they do served a good food. Will we come back to stay for the night? probably not. But we wish a good luck for the estate as they do have some potential to make it more beautiful than what it is.

Room Tip: Stayed at Brigitte suite & the bathroom is located outside the suite. It is an old history build...

Beautiful castle in original like condition. Very nice common areas, with home like interrior, including a pool table! Room was nice as spacious, but a little cold. They have spent a lot of money in decorations. I wish there would have been a little better history available......

Spent some time here as went sea trout fishing by near by sea. The castle is extraordinary. Exactly what one can expect from beautiful old castle that offers the most amazing experience. Room 16 is very comfortable and large. Rooms are not equipped with TVs but WiFi is available. Restaurant offers insanely delicious food for dinner with local ingredients such as very tasty plum fish, venison, veal of different sorts and lobster. Wine menu is substantial and value for money is great. Breakfast ambience is really sound and the buffet in such a cozy surroundings is really fantastic. Sitting rooms for afternoon tea and coffee with local cake and uuhlalaa sandwiches are worth to try at least twice. All in all great people, service and beautiful place to relax and get cozy.

Huge rooms in a beautiful castle complete with winding staircase, moat, and a luxurious lounge filled with many antiques. The bathroom was shared, but huge and even had a chandelier. I think I was the only guest so it was exceptionally quiet. The museum is also well worth a visit. The hotel does have some rooms for business use and ample parking.

I wish TripAdvisor would provide Senior Contributors with the ability to give 6 stars to places like this for every 10 review or so – it is truly a special place.

We had the most amazing time at Broholm, here is a few highlights:
• The surroundings, unique rooms, and beauty of this place takes you back to a place in history. Kayaking or using the rowboat to navigate around the moat with the abundance of fish and ducks or taking a walk around the grounds is something we will remember for a long long time.
• Food and service. We had several people saying that this was the best food they had ever tasted, the freshness, combination, herbs used made every meal something too look forward to. Kenneth, Jesper, Pia and Natasha… Your service set this place apart from others. My wife’s father had to have his food thoroughly blended, but Broholm did this for each piece separately making the meals a very enjoyable experience for everybody.
• Party planning. We were there for our wedding and it was immaculately executed. We started dinner a bit late around 7PM and due to speeches, songs etc. were didn’t get desert before after 12, but there was no stress, no rush, just whatever we wanted and needed. Again, thanks to Kenneth for flawless execution.

Thanks to Nanne and Anne for keeping us sane during the wedding planning, this event went well beyond our and our gusts expectation.

Having stayed at Steensgaard before, we assumed this would be similar, but no such luck!! Our arrival was somewhat stressful, though we handed them our booking printout, they didn't seem to be aware or prepared for our arrival ? However that did get sorted and we got our rooms, they were still cleaning, so we had to jump over washing, hoovers etc etc whilst carrying our own luggage i.e.. NO help!!! Then we went across the courtyard to have afternoon coffee, with a delicious small glass of apple cake, but that was it. So somewhat disappointing, again compared to Steensgaard, where we had been served an amazing selection.
Evening meal was lovely, but very very slow service! Breakfast was fine.
The rooms were really nice, especially the bathrooms.
Please note - there are stairs everywhere, so if someone in your party has walking difficulties, this place it not for you!!
