On our first night in Naxos, we went to Delmar for dinner. It’s an Italian place right on the beach in Agios Prokopios, and was not far from where we were staying.
We ordered a cheese board to share and each selected a pasta dish. When the cheese board arrived, it was immediately apparent that it was laughably too big. There was no way two of us could eat that much cheese in one seating. We gave some away to the table next to us and took the rest back to the hotel. The pasta dishes were quite good; we particularly enjoyed the pesto sauce. Pasta is probably the restaurant’s strong suit for dinner.
While the whole meal was (for a variety of reasons) a bit of a train wreck, we had a very good experience. The staff was amazingly friendly and really wanted us to enjoy our meal. It made the foibles more charming than anything.
