My husband and I stayed at the Avenue Hotel for 4 nights in June 2018. We had booked one of the larger rooms and it was indeed very spacious! Ample closet space, a desk and room to walk around. The bathroom was adequate but not fancy. Since the weather was unusually warm, we were very pleased to find a fan in the room.
One day we rented bikes from the hotel for 150 DKK (about $25) each, including a helmet. Our son, who lives in CPH, took us all around the city, so the rental price was well worth it, as we were able to get to places that would be more difficult to reach by metro or bus. It was also nice to be able to just bike back to the hotel at the end of the day and not have to worry about returning the bikes to a shop before closing time.

The hotel is located on a very busy road, so if your room is in the front of the building it may be noisy. Our room was located in the back of the building on the 3rd floor, overlooking the courtyard, so it was relatively quiet. On nice evenings people do gather there with a drink, so you may hear some noise from that.

We liked the location of the hotel: not in the busy center of the city, but still fairly close so you can walk there. It is also less than 10 minutes walking from the Forum metro stop. There you can catch the metro to the airport.

The hotel serves a buffet breakfast in the morning with many fresh breads, fruit, gluten-free cereals, juices, milk and soy milk.

Room Tip: Higher floors facing the courtyard will probably be the quieter ones.

Dear EastCoastTraveler19,

Thank you very much for this kind review.
Yes, it is quite easy to bike around in Copenhagen and renting the bikes in the hotel is actually quite convenient as you can return them whenever you wish during the rental day.

Thank you again for staying with us and we hope to see you back.
Wish you all the best.

I have already spend a couple of nights here and must say that I am a very satisfied Customer.
The Rooms are of good size and are renovated bit by bit. There is free WIFI and if you book a Superior you even have a desk in the room where you can work if needed.
Only drawback is the noisy Main road in front of the hotel. To the back all is fine. There is even a patio with lounge furniture to relax and have a tap Beer.

Breakfast is delicious and the staff always has a smile in their faces being very friendly and helpful.
Recommend this place and will definitely return!

We stayed here in June for three nights. The staff were friendly and informal and the reception was in the bar! The rooms were clean and comfortable and they have 'proper' keys which you had to hand in at reception when you went out. There was plenty to eat at breakfast (mostly organic) - meats, cheeses, bread, fruit, yoghurt, cereals and eggs, with a choice of pots of coffee or tea. Breakfast could be eaten indoors or as it was great weather while we were there we ate outside on the spacious decked area. Although the hotel is on a main road we asked for a quiet room at the back which was ideal. About 15-20 minutes walk into Copenhagen city centre which we enjoyed as it was fine, hot and sunny but there was a frequent local bus to get you there as well. When you get to Copenhagen centre the city is walkable and the hop on hop off bus tours are great, especially the mermaid bus and boat trips. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms at the back.

This was overall a nice place to stay in Copenhagen. A bit further out (but still walking distance) from city center but in a fun neighborhood with plenty of places to eat and drink. It is very loud and no air conditioning so be prepared if staying during a hot season. I enjoyed the breakfast and courtyard with comfortable couches. Staff was helpful and courteous.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street will be louder.

Dear cwall5,

thank you so much for this kind review.
Yes, in Denmark we do not have aircondition and this weather has been amazing and not expected, so it can be somewhat noisy when windows are open.

I wish you a wonderful Summer.

We have stayed in this hotel 4 nights in June. The hotel is not in the center of the city but was closer to the conference venue in which I have participated (MAERSK tower). The room was big enough (superior double room) but the furniture very old, weird and worn out. There was a niche for a refrigerator in the room but it was empty. Scarce supply of shower gel and shampoo. There was one of each for a couple in the room. Shower – broken regulator for the water temperature and low water pressure. There is significant difference between the modern and sharp surroundings in the lobby and restaurant area and that of the room. Breakfast was very good but if you wanted an omelet instead of a boiled egg you need to pay extra on the very expensive breakfast (198 DKK for a person). The reception stuff seems to be friendly and helpful but when checking in and asking for a nearby and not expensive restaurant in the neighborhood we were directed to one about 1.5 km away when they were a lot of restaurants just in the parallel street. I could not have a pre-paid breakfast in one of the mornings due to an early hour obligation in the conference but refund was strictly refused.

Dear Avi S,

Thank you for your feedback.
You are right, we are not located in the city center, we are located on Frederiksberg which is 1,5km, almost 12 min walk) from the city center.
The lobbybar and the rooms are actually from the same period, but I am sorry the furniture was not the standard that you wished.
The pressure of water is kept on a enviromental friendly level as we are a part of the Green Key, that is a foundation working together with 2100 hotels in order to keep the waste of water level down.
Unfortunately if a breakfast is prepaid, it is not possible to get it refunded as it is a part of the total price of the booking - the conditions of changing the prices/booking details are informed on your booking confirmation.

Thank you and have a wonderful Summer.
