We had an absolutely glorious stay at La Prairie in August. The studio easily accommodates a couple as the small space works well; besides, you end up spending most of your time on the terrace (or under a tree in the garden!) as the view is so gorgeous. You are surrounded by absolute peace and quiet, and the Tarn is easily accessible at the bottom of the field for a quick swim.
Inside, the gite is impeccable, the bed and mattress are both very comfortable, the shower pressure and water temperature is good, and the kitchen well-equipped. All the windows have venetian blinds or black-out curtains, so we slept like logs. We didn’t get to meet Yan, but Coco was incredibly hospitable, plying us with her superb tomatoes, and the largest courgettes we’d ever seen! We wanted to move in and never leave – a sure sign of a great holiday.
Florac is a 5min drive or 45min walk through the woods and has some great restaurants and a big Intermarché, and the Gorges du Tarn section of the Tarn is about a 30-45min drive, not to mention all the Upper Tarn section of the river which is full of great swimming spots. We had an absolutely superb time.
