Stayed in this Hotel for 10 nights with family (adult son and his gf and and 77 year old mother) in 2 x apartments.
1 x 1 bed
1x 2 bed

Pros.
Location wise no complaints at all great beach across the road and several restaurants, including the Surf club general store etc within walking distance.
The rooms are clean and well equipped with all necessary kitchen needs.
Fresh towels and clean bedding changed on day 5.
Pool area is lovely with 4 sun loungers and a communal BBQ with a table and chairs.

Cons:
Bedding and room sofas are tired and horrible to sleep in or sit on. We even tried adding the scatter cushions ontop of the main cushions of the sofa for extra comfort but didn't really help. The sag towards the back meant the scatter cushions disappeared behind the back rest.
The bathroom is small and combines the toilet and washing machine and dryer with little room for placing your toiletries. I set up the small ironing board along the wall to allow for extra space to open our toilet bags.
The single apartment also only has a very small bar type fridge
something to consider if like us you buy groceries and need them refrigerated. Luckily we were able to store the larger items in the second apartment.
We also found the fridge in single apartment needed defrosting every third day as the door would not close because of ice build up on the freezer despite turning the temp. Down.
The bedding however in both apartments was so uncomfortable we all ended up with terrible back and hip pain. So I would advise to consider this if you have a bad back or hips

My 77 year old mother slept in the single bed and was stiff and sore by holidays end.

The air conditioner in the single apartment was noisy and only had one fan speed - flat out.
The double apartment had constant air conditioning trouble. To be fair management did come and install a portable air conditioner to help keep the apartment cool whilst they repaired the main aircon.
Patio doors were also stiff to lock. On one occasion we returned to the room to find the cleaner had left the patio door wide open. Thankfully nothing was taken.

Overall a nice hotel but the apartments we stayed in need a freshen up , particularly as mentioned the furniture.

Such a shame because it really is in a lovely area and at over $5000 for the two apartments it's not surprising Australians prefer to travel overseas.

We just spent 10 nights at the Grand Palais, we had an absolute blast of a time and I would highly recommend the Grand Palais, Brett and the team are welcoming, informative, helpful yet inobtrusive. We rented a 2 bedroom rooftop apartment with a private balcony including BBQ which enabled us to entertain wider family and friends while overlooking the beach. Great location, great pool, fully self contained apartment with everything you need, secure off street parking. Thanks Brett and team for a great holiday, we will definitely be back. The Rhodes family.

Room tip: Treat yourself and book a rooftop ocean view!

Have just returned with the family after staying at The Grand Palais Beachside Resort. We were a little late in checking in but received a warm welcome and immediately went into holiday mode.

We stayed on the top floor which was spacious, clean, great kitchen and also had an awesome rooftop entertainment area with a BBQ and great views of the New Years Fireworks.

The location is great with everything you need within 100m -awesome beach, coffee shops, surf club (great chips and smoothies).

Brett and Anna were happy to assist in anything we needed and I cannot thank Brett enough for having a machine with Galaga and other vintage video games to play while the kids were in the pool.

Will return again.

Room tip: We had a top floor apartment with a great roof terrace and bbq.

We stayed at the Grand Palais for at least the 3rd or 4th time and it lived up to our expectations again. We always book an ocean front apartment and this time had a roof top balcony as well complete with BBQ and lounge chairs. We not only had great views of the surf but also got an amazing view of the New Years Eve fire works.

Our kids spent countless hours in the pool and nothing was too much for the staff and management. Suffice to say we will be back again next year.

Room tip: Ocean view rooms are amazing
