Agricola Gianpiero Marrone can be found in La Morra and more precisely in Annunziata, in the middle of the Langhe. The cantina was just what we were looking for and for 24 euro per person we received a dish of snacks (bruschette etc.) a hot dish, a board of different salamis and a platter of cheese, oh I forgot the cake. We tried five different wines ending with the moscato.
Four generations of Marrone family. It is now a "girls" winery as Gianpiero has 3 daughters. We spent a lovely afternoon there.

Our visit to the Marrone wine cellar was a definite highlight of our trip to Piedmont! We did a half day cooking class which was more like cooking, drinking wine and laughing with friends. We arrived at 10:30 and the place was pretty quiet. We were met by Milena, a lovely girl who led us to the kitchen to begin cooking with Mihaela, a sweet and talented chef. They had some snacks out for us and welcomed us to begin with a glass of any wine of our choosing. We prepared a beautiful Braised beef with Barolo wine, a russian salad with homemade mayonnaise, risotto and a delicious chocolate and amaretto bunet for dessert. We had so much fun getting to know each other while cooking in the kitchen, all the while tasting delicious wine throughout preparing. After we finished preparing the food we went into the lovely dining area that was now full with others who were arriving to enjoy lunch and wine tasting. We were then served the lunch we made, accompanied by more fantastic wine. It was really a perfect day spent with a lovely and fun group of people. This is a family run winery and you really feel that when you have spent some time there. I would highly recommend this experience to enhance your vacation in Piedmont!

We took an amazing half day cooking class in the Marrone wine cellar learning to cook Piedmontese delicacies. It was such a fantastic and unique experience, and we felt like we were part of the family. The Marrone family, their friends and family - basically everyone helping out at the wine cellar - was so hospitable and knowledgeable. The view from their rooftop is quite spectacular as well. I highly recommend visiting them!

We organised some tastings through www.piemonteonwine.it a group that will organise private tours and tastings. It is a free service you just need to pay the vineyard if their is a charge for the tasting.

I can highly recommend them.

I asked piedmontonwine for a vineyard that might also serve lunch. They suggested Marrone.

The tasting and food was really good. It was regional foods and was served with the tasting wines.

I think the fact that Marrone also runs cooking classes might also be an advantage

Also the views from the roof top terrace are spectacular

They also sell some other products like truffles

A must for a tasting and light lunch

The views are also amazing making our 3 vineyard tour a highlight of our Northern Italian trip
