Harvest Farm
Reviewed 22 June 2017

Loved the farm getaway. The hosts were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The country cottage was clean and had a great country feel. Plenty of farm animals and loved the walk through the veggie patch and collecting the eggs. It was close to Healesville Sanctuary which we also enjoyed. The food hamper was amazing as was the breakfast. Can't wait for our next trip which is already booked!! Very happy customer and we will definitely bring the kids for the next trip.

Room Tip: Relaxing luxury country getaway

Harvest Farm, Located in Healesville and opposite the Sanctuary is a wonderful place to stay if you want a relaxing, quiet and peaceful setting. The Farm Cottage is spacious, clean and has every thing you need. The Cottage is surrounded by a terrific garden and is very private. Walking around the property, feeding the cows, collecting fresh chicken eggs or collecting vegetables from the garden, this is a great place to unwind. Karina the owner made us feel very much at home. Gary & Anna

Harvest farm is a beautiful property situated minutes from Healseville. My family and I stayed at the dairy house, a 2 bedroom house surrounded by lovely gardens and fruit trees. The house was warm, comfortable and clean and rooms were generous in size and nicely styled.

Our kids loved feeding the animals and picking fruit and vegetables from the wonderful veggie garden. Breakfast provisions are provided for a yummy cook up in the morning as well as tea coffee and everything you might need for a relaxing stay along with a superb view to wake up to.

I would highly recommend this property, a perfect getaway for families or couples with a love for nature and quiet.

One of my most favorite places! Loved the cottage and its location. Nice and cosy and very private. Tastefully furnished and extremely charming. Would have happily stayed on for a couple more days of it was possible. Would definitely return!

Hmmm.. to call this place a farm is a bit of a stretch.. was nice for a night to get away,, nice and quiet etc.. lovely spa bath and linen and towels were all nice and clean BUT there were no animals..!!!! I'm just so glad we didn't bring the kids and promise them horses and cows as there were none.. there were some chickens running around but I also have chickens at home so nothing special.. also just s suggestion but wire to hang the curtains in the lounge room not a good look.. small little touches need to be updated and add some animals as advertised on the website.. probably won't be back unfortunately as it has potential to be a very cute place to stay..

Hi Lauren, thanks for your feedback, and sorry you didn't see the animals. They don't always stay in the paddock in front of the cottage. We allow them freedom to roam the farm to find the best pasture. The sheep, cow, horses and alpaca must have been in the top paddock at the time you visited, past the orchard and chickens. Hopefully we might host you another time with your children.....the animals love being hand fed.

The Dairy House feels very welcoming on arrival with fresh flowers throughout. Whilst the furniture is reasonably old and detracts somewhat from your initial impression it fits with the cottagey look and feel. There is a lot to like about this place, but also some frustrating issues that could be fixed. Our frustrations were the microwave being located on the bottom shelf of a cupboard so you had to sit on the floor to read the operating panel. Dining chairs were wobbly when sitting on them. The cutlery and crockery were difficult to access being inside a very low cupboard where the kitchen bench had been widened but not the cupboards. Bedroom and bathroom were well appointed, clean and welcoming. Kitchen was well equipped however saucepans were very cheap. There was plenty of wood for a fire each night of our stay. Access to spare light globes would be handy. We enjoyed our stay however felt the cottage was a little underdone for the price we paid and this made the difference between a good stay and a wonderful stay. A few minor upgrades and the Dairy House could be a stunning experience. We would return if visiting the Yarra Valley in the future.

Room Tip: The Dairy House has a great deck and the better outdoor area.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Apologies for the delay in responding but we have only just recently taken over Harvest Farm and saw your post. Both cottages, Harvest House and Dairy House, are delightful and the outlook fabulous, but we agree it's attention to details that can make all the difference. The cottages are again immaculate and well equipped, the extensive gardens blooming, the huge vegetable garden (from which guests are encouraged to pick for their dinner) is starting to thrive, and the farm animals continue to entertain. We're rapt to see that you would visit again and hope to see you, and the other guests who have kindly posted reviews to Trip Adviser, at Harvest Farm again at some stage where you will experience our commitment to offering a fabulous break away.
Kind regards, Karina

Amazing place. Fire place, spa bath, kitchen facilities, peace and quiet with amazing country views. We have stayed here many times. Well worth a night or weekend away to treat yourself. Bring your own food and enjoy cooking it in the older style kitchen, an old but nice deck to sit outside. The property offers many farm animals including horses, cows, lambs, ducks that you can feed and have a chat to. It really is the ideal city escape

Room Tip: Two houses to choose from. Front house is our preference
