The Farmhouse is situated right in the middle of Gourge village but once you walk through the gate you could be in the middle of the French countryside. Gourge is a gem of a village, with a restaurant/bar and local shop although within a few minutes walk.
I stayed here in Oct 2019 and the weather was still warm enough for me to swim in the private heated pool everyday and soak up the sun in one of the many secluded spots.
My friends and I spent our days investigating the local historic towns and villages near by, with their markets and cafes. We also drove to Samur for a wine tasting day.
If you want a holiday with lots of nightlife then this probably isn't for you, although we did have a couple of late nights with the locals in the village restaurant/bar with dancing in the village square. But if you are looking for somewhere relaxing with beautiful accommodation, your own private pool and garden, then this is to be snapped up.
I travelled to La Petite Ferme with a group of friends in the summer of 2019, and I don't have enough words to describe what an amazing time we had! The village and surrounding area is beautiful - far enough away from the bustle of a big city to feel remote, but also really close to towns for local amenities and entertainment.
Lisa is a fantastic host with an abundance of local knowledge that she's willing to share - she pointed us in the direction of several great restaurants in the area, as well as beauty spots nearby in other villages.
We were very much left to our own devices for the duration of our stay and enjoyed the pool, the garden, and the run of the whole house - plenty of space to hang out as a group or relax with a book by yourself. We really did love every minute of it and felt truly relaxed (and a little sad to leave!) when our holiday came to an end.
Myself and my sister stayed here for a week in this beautiful, comfortable and clean converted farmhouse. It was full of character, an ideal place to get away and relax as it is located in the wonderful Gourge countryside. The owners were really friendly and helpful, and could not do enough to make our stay comfortable. The farmhouse has a lot of surrounding space in the courtyard with a lovely swimming pool which made this an ideal oasis in which to relax. The owners were on hand to give advice on surrounding villages and places of interest to visit, and organised transport to help us. The village has a lovely restaurant called Petite Marmite where we had amazing meals. Located in the heart of the village it was ideal to sit outside, meet and chat with the locals and watch the world go by. I will definitely return.
