We enjoyed a 7 course meal. Very small shared platters which were good. The food was well presented and all courses came with a full description by the waiting staff. The service was slow, we were constantly asking for water and repeating our orders for drinks, that oops! we forgot. Never seemed to have the same staff member which meant you could not build a relationship with them. The drinks were very expensive as was the set dinner cost. $750+ for 10 adults. Appreciated the fact that the staff asked some other guests to quieten down, as the venue is quite noisy anyway.

We chose Stray Neighbours to celebrate a family member's birthday milestone and unfortunately the food, service and prices were severely lacking.
The waitress appeared to have an 'uninterested' attitude resulting in late, forgotten drinks, food ..
The ultimate nail in the coffin was what was served to us in response to our request for "a plate of steamed vegetables for the kids please." We were brought a plate which, at the initial sight, looked like a plate of leafy green carrot ends ! On closer inspection we found underneath the greenery x7 skinny, shrivelled up roasted baby carrots and all for just $9.0 !!! Ridiculous.
The desserts were dry & not well presented.
On paying the bill $600+ (8 adults & 3 children with minimal drinks) I discreetly mentioned my dissatisfaction to the waitress and again she genuinely seemed totally disinterested. I would NOT recommend Stray Neighbours AT ALL.

I felt there was a disconnect between the ambience and the food. It was a low-key, spacious, somewhat noisy setting - the sort of place in which you might expect to buy a burger, fish and chips or parmigiana. Yet the food, which to be fair was of a high standard (the desert - Caramel & milk chocolate parfait, peanut brittle - was especially tasty), was very expensive and seemed out-of-kilter with the environment. The 'Small' dishes were indeed small, as were the 'Large' dishes.

Its awesome when you find a total gem in your own hood. Not only is this place perfect for a quiet drink with a friend, or an afternoon group catch up with a pool table, paddles of beers to taste & delicious beer snacks, it is also a great restaurant. Our visit was for dinner and the whole experience was faultless with excellent service, delicious food and bottomless (free!) sparkling water. Winner winner chicken pie dinner.
