Great beach. Nice easy walk along the shore. Saw loons, cliffs and lots of fossils amongst the rocks. Super great morning.

Chris is friendly and incredibly knowledgable fellow. The museum is rammed full of wonderful fossils, with great interpretation. An inspiring place to visit as a child. Be sure to have a proper poke on the beach for tetrapod footprint fossils, and worm castings. Let your inner palaeontologist out!

I was in Halifax on business for a few weeks and decided to get my son who is a dinosaur and fossil lover some souvenirs. I found the Blue Beach Fossil Museam through trip advisor and had a great day. The man who runs the museams is very friendly and knowledgeable and is more than happy to educate you on what to look for. I arrived arround one o'clock and there was 10 to 15 feet of beach, but as i explored the bay of fundy tides went out and when o left at four there was over 100 feet of beach. Had a really fun day and felt like a kid on a treasure hunt.

It is a little difficult to find the correct turn off for the museum etc. I stopped at the municipal office and they gave me directions. Sonja is a good host, and Chris is very knowledgeable. They prepare you for the tour with a presentation in the museum followed by a walk down to the beach. The beach is covered with rocks of all sizes. After the presentation you start daydreaming about finding a new species of dinosaur or something just as spectacular. Instead you will find impressions of ancient mud hardened into rock. I found a piece with the impression of leaves, but it weighed almost 10 pounds, and I could not put that in my suitcase. Then I found a piece about the size of 2 fingers which I took home for a paperweight.
