We stayed for one night to celebrate a special anniversary and as such treated ourselves to a deluxe room. Right from the off, we were impressed with the personal touches - from the point of booking we exchanged emails with the manager and owner regarding which room might suit us best, leaving us looking forward to our stay even more! We had room 5 which had a really lovely woodland view - particularly beautiful during autumn!

The king size bed was comfortable, as were the armchairs where we whiled away a peaceful hour drinking tea and admiring the view. Speaking of which, the tea tray was generous with various types of tea as well as coffee and hot chocolate and - much to my husband's delight - homemade shortbread! The bath and shower were also good.

As others have touched on, the warmth and hospitality from all the staff is what really makes this place feel so relaxing and welcoming, even on a one night stay. It's very much a home from home feel. This is reflected in the general atmosphere of the hotel among the guests, everyone is obviously very content and relaxed which makes for a convivial atmosphere in the dining room and the bar - even on a week night. The food was as utterly delicious as we had been expecting and that, coupled with the attentive service, meant we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had a very happy evening.

Location wise the hotel is ideally placed for seeing some of the many beautiful sights and walks in the area. The Pass of Killiecrankie (stunning in autumn) and 'Solider's Leap' are literally across the road from the hotel making for a perfect walk on the doorstop.

We would love to come again and stay for two nights next time, to really treat ourselves to being so well looked after in such a peaceful, relaxing place! Having spoke to a few other guests it seemed most had visited a few times and I can totally understand why!

Room tip: Room 5 was lovely!

We were at this hotel last Sunday for lunch with a friend. It did not disappoint - wonderful food at a reasonable price. We would have preferred to have sat in the dining room because the seats looked very comfortable but it is only open for breakfast and dinner which is a pity . Food is excellent and a big menu to choose from with nothing a problem . Friendly and excellent service and would definitely recommend.

Thank you so much for your kind review- I am so glad you enjoyed your lunch last Sunday. We hardly ever serve lunch in the dining room since, when we have tried it people tend to prefer the informality of the Bar Conservatory. But I am sorry if you were disappointed. Come for dinner at some point, or even better, come and stay and you can experience the dining room for yourself.

With best wishes from us all

We stumbled onto killiecrankie hotel by accident and we are so glad we did. The rooms are beautiful, the restaurant is amazing and attention to detail is incredible. The Australian waitress was exceptional and was on top of everything. Will be back for sure.

We stayed two nights at the Killicrankie hotel and it might have been the highlight of our entire trip. The staff were amazing, the food was amazing, and the service was top notch. I've stayed at plenty fancy hotels with all of the bells and whistles. Sure, they offer great service, but Killiecrankie was different. I not only felt incredibly welcomed and comfortable, but I couldn't help but notice the attention to every detail. Every conversation, every meal, and every service that was offered was executed at the highest level. The staff clearly care about the details and making sure that everything that matters to you as a guest, is taken care of. Cannot recommend enough!
