I absolutely adore Bay Gardens Hote. It is ideal for family vacations. For all the years I have been visiting St. Lucia and have always wanted to stay at Bay Gardens Hotel, I finally got the chance to and I can say that I do not regret one moment spent there.

Some staff though a little laid back, are very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was of real Caribbean flavor and we totally enjoyed that.

I will not stay anywhere else when visiting St. Lucia as it has all the necessary amenities and the area is surrounded with enough shopping, nightlife and restaurants.

Kudos to Peter, our taxi driver who was exceptional. He is a quiet GEM. Thank you very much Bay Gardens & Peter for a wonderful stay in our home away from home....

Room Tip: Ground floor pool view is ideal so you can watch the kids in the pool from the room.

My wife is from St Lucia and we where coming over to visit mum and dad and did not want to stay in the village, family members had stayed at this hotel before and said that it was nice and after reading the reviews we booked through Virgin.
The hotel is situated just off the main road and next to a nice little shopping centre,if it's a beach holiday you want would advise one of the other hotels that are directly on the beach, there is a free shuttle that takes you to there main resort which is on the beach,I think it leaves every hour from just outside the foyer entrance, it's probably a good 15/20 min walk if you fancy it, I always hire a car when in st lucia,I recommend the beach at pigeon island which is not far from hotel very quite most days and can drive right up to the beach no venders trying to get you to pay for sun beds.
On our arrival at about 3.30pm our room was not ready and told it was going to be 5 mins, half an hour later was still not ready so was getting quite fed up after a long flight and being up very early, was asked if we wanted a welcome rum punch which was a nice gesture but they forgot and it arrived after 20 mins, but was nice.
Room nice ,nice big bed, bathroom okay shower room could do with a bit updating but was okay, room had a fridge which was came in handy for drinks bottles of water, also tea and coffee making.
We stayed on the ground floor right near the bar which some nights was quite noisy and had to phone reception one night at 2am to ask quests still sitting by the pool to be quiet, it looks small when you first walk through but it extends all the way back so is quite a big site.
Pool is small but good for a cool down,a few sun beds are around the pool if you want to relax but the kids dive bombing in the pool where a little frustrating some times, because it is a small area.
There was no information book like you get with most hotels to let you know what goes on,which I always find very useful,if I was staying just for the hotel would of found this frustrating, because there was no info,no one told us about the managers Monday night cocktail welcome night?
There is no entertainment at the hotel except the Monday night with some guy singing karaoke,I was surprised that there was no music playing in the bar would of giving it a better carribean feel, one night at dinner they played a bit of Bob,then went all pop,so definatly could do better there.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants around the hotel for you to explore, and gros islet is close for Friday night fish frie.
We was only room board, breakfast is a buffet which we had twice and enjoyed but very expensive $22us about £17 a head,so we decided to buy cereal fruits from masseys local supermarket round the corner,we enjoyed the meals we had in the evening's which is buffet, very expensive if not on all inclusive $84EC each. They have themed nights and I really enjoyed the Italian and Chinese nights, also the spicey burger made from fresh very good, myself and my wife enjoyed very much, there are happy hours at the bar and the cocktails where very good, rum punch had a good kick and the banana and baileys is a must, local beer pitons is okay but you pay a lot at the bar think it was $7EC a bottle, where you can buy 6 bottles for $20EC at the supermarket, I get that it's a hotel but big difference.
If not on all inclusive you could find it expensive to eat and drink here and saw quite alot of guest bringing in food and drinks, Don, t know if it's the time of year we where here but the resturant and bar very quiet in the evening and during the day.
After getting in the swing of things we started to enjoy our stay and getting to know the staff, they was all very nice and friendly and a few that really stood out, Cheryl the Manger was very nice and interacted with the guest and knows her hospitality, and made our stay more enjoyable with her team, our maid was lovely and our room was kept nice and clean.
Bay Gardens suited our needs well as we wanted a Base to travel down to Anse-la raye, we enjoyed the location and would definitely stay here again, but choose a different room away from the bar area.
Thanks Bay Gardens.

This is a Caribbean standard hotel. The staff, with some exceptions, is very good. The facility is in a noisy area and everything is crowded. The rooms are spacious. Two pools, the largest was closed two days of my staying. The bad thing: I needed to work from the hotel room on Friday morning and the mowing crew was extremely noisy. They literally spent an entire morning for something I would complete in one hour. it is the Caribbean, everything is done a half speed and late. Three machines at the same time.
If you travel to St. Lucia, be mindful that the airport is in the south of the island and the hotel in the north. Unless you have prearranged transportation, the "local taxi" drivers who buzz around the arrival area will charge over US$80 to take you to the north. Taxis to the airport are at the same rate. Drivers tend to be merciless because two round trips will make the day and will put your life at risk in the two-way road. If you are not afraid to drive on the left side, rent a car. Better, if you choose an island less hotter and nicer. Think Kauai, Maui, the Big Island or any island in Hawai'i

Room Tip: standard room (had a mini fridge and a microwave.

Arrived at the hotel with my two children. Reception area small but staff very welcoming. Room was lovely and clean with all facilities such as fridge kettle etc.. opened the patio doors on to the pool area which was ideal for the children. Got 6 free passes for the waterpark at the sister hotel.. got 1 hour but and it was definitely long enough then spent the rest of the day in the beach. There's plenty of water sports. Really cannot find any faults with the hotel.

The Bay Gardens properties were the base hotels for a film festival I performed for. This property is one of three Bay Gardens properties in Rodney Bay which is walking distance from the mall, casino, convenience stores and restaurants. There is a shuttle that leaves every hour for Reduit Beach at the Bay Gardens Resort where you will have full use of all of their amenities. The staff at the resort on the beach were phenomenal. I would suggest bringing your own face towels as there were none in my room and it took housekeeping almost 24 hours to find me one face towel. (That's my mistake because I normally bring them when traveling internationally.) The rooms were exceptionally clean--I had no use for the cleanser that I travel with. The king room I was assigned did not allow for much room to store my luggage, however, there was plenty of closet space once I unpacked. If you are traveling as a couple, you will have to stack your luggage in a corner in order to maneuver throughout the room. The breakfasts which were included with the room rate were very tasty. I would have like to have seen more than pork on the menu every day, though. Clendon, the karaoke guy is very fun and accommodating. All of the staff were phenomenal. Germain the bartender became a good friend. :-)

Room Tip: There are no elevators. If mobility is a problem, request a room on the 1st floor.
