We recently had the great pleasure of renting this villa for a family reunion of about 23 people, many of whom had never been to Italy. The buildings themselves are set back a way from the main road, lending tremendous privacy to the setting on a family owned vineyard and winery (thus the alternative name "tenuta"). With portions originally constructed several centuries ago, the main villa and surrounding smaller buildings are quite beautiful, but completely updated with most modern amenities. Each day began with a large breakfast prepared by the villa staff, all the delicious typical Italian breakfast delicacies you could desire. Bedrooms were spacious, beds large and extremely comfortable, and in suite bathrooms more than adequate. The host family, however, is really a highlight of the rental, as they were warm and extremely generous with their time and recommendations for dining locations locally, in Arezzo, and even in Florence. A highlight was a wine tasting on the property, wonderfully delicious vintages that led us to buy as much as we could carry home (and then ship the rest!). One night, we used the outdoor pizza oven overlooking the pool to prepare a small feast, and another evening, used the large, modern kitchen to prepare a pasta extravaganza.
We will definitely be back in the future, as the location was perfectly situated to enjoy Tuscany, the grounds beautiful, the villa warm and spacious, and the hosts most incredible!
