A beautiful meal at Il Mercato in Bedford with a good friend from Montreal. The restaurant didn't disappoint last night. From the slightly spicy and tender calamari to the variety of small nibblies platter, the appetizers were flavourful and prepared well. The only notable exception was the prosciutto wrapped around the flaky crostini stick. They cut the prosciutto with the protective skin still on, which made it inedible unless you unravelled it from the meat; very messy and disappointing. However, you couldn't ask for a fresher Italian fish stew or perfectly cooked beef tenderloin with a really delectable port sauce. So delectable, I used the fresh focaccia bread to sop up every bite!
