After passing by a lot of restaurants we came here and the menu looked promissing so we entered. Perfect choice because the staff is very friendly, they serve dishes different than elsewhere, real Flemish style kitchen. The food is great and the portions are large. Good price quality and You don't leave still feeling hungry but very satisfied.

We just had dinner at this mid town restaurant.
After having seen the menu, we had some doubts whether to stay or not: the menu radiates a complete lack of creativity or pride. Prices are mid range.
Nonetheless, we stayed and ordered to find out that the dishes were OK, nothing more.
Staff on the other hand was very friendly, with a lot of effort to please our little daughter.
In terms of value for money, there are better places to eat in the vicinity

My wife, son, and I biked over from Germany and found ourselves in Masseik around dinner time in a Friday night. We walked the square looking for a place to have dinner. We decided on Restaurant De Bokkerijder. What a wonderful decision! The wait staff were very prompt and attentive. We were waited on by Ellen, a wonderful young lady! The food was wonderful, absolutely delicious! The restaurant began to get full/busy just after we arrived and in between our courses, we watched how efficiently the wait staff maneuvered. It was a perfect evening to eat outside and the meal was perfect! We will absolutely be revisiting this location again. Our thanks to the management and wait staff!!!!!

Good beginning... which quickly turned to a NIGHTMARE.
You're received with small appetizers. The waitress was polite and welcoming.
Starter, an asparagus velouté and a lobster soup, served with small warm breads and toasts accompanied by isigny butter. All quite good and palatable.
Correct wine, chateau Turcaud cuvee majeure 2014.
Then started the nightmare: pork loin filet with red wine sauce, what could go wrong? Well, the pork was indeed dead, overcooked, drawn in a cherry sauce cooked in red wine. The side dish salad was mostly composed of cheap mayonnaise... and some lettuce leaves. The baked potatoes were reused baked potatoes : it was so oily you could pore oil out of the bowl. What we did and saw the oil was ORANGE, a smelling old oil.
My friend took the white asparagus with nord sea shrimps. Overcooked asparagus with something faking a hollandaise sauce. A real wonder when you're at the border with Holland. Though we explicitly complaint about it, pouring the ORANGE oil out of the potatoes side dish in front of the waitress : no apologies, no excuse.
The manager was so gross that he thanked us like nothing happened until I explicitly ask him for an explanation, which we didn't get...
If you have 100 eur to spend, please, DON'T SPEND IT HERE. OUTRAGEOUS

This will be the first time in over 100 restaurant reviews that I've given a 5/5 in all 3 categories; Service Food Value.
The service was unbelievable - 4 of us arrived on a Friday night, no reservation, we were swept in, given a great table, it was cleared and set instantly by one person, while another had menus in our hands before our bums were in the seat, and water was put on the table (by yet another server) before our chairs were pushed in.
As soon as our drink orders were taken the amuse bouche starting coming. I found one little cracker flipped upside down on the table clothe and all of a sudden there were 2 more rounds of amuse bouche show up.
The food was great (and plentiful). The atmosphere was extremely pleasant, colourful and roomy. Just a fabulous experience.
There's no website so you'll have to go hunting for it.
