The Kasbah Tizourgane is unique and delightful. Rooms and facilities are simple, but perfectly clean and adequate. Food is of local style, tasty and wholesome - lots of tagine, vegetables, grains, oranges and some meat; welcoming to vegetarians. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the proprietors (who live on-site) speak Arabic, French and some English; free wi-fi is available at reception. This is an extraordinary historic site in the beautiful Anti-Atlas area, a great base for climbing and other outdoor activity. (N.B. If you are looking for Western-style luxury, food and alcohol, go somewhere else!)

Stayed here in November 2014 to use as a base for climbing in the area, for which it was perfect. It's a beautiful fort and I love the idea of communal dining, but very overpriced (although I think the rates varied somewhat between guests as some seemed to get a good deal?!) and our room was a little dingy. Also not a lot else to do in the area (we had previously been Tafraout which is a nice little town on the other side of the mountain with shops, bars etc), so as long as you're there just to climb, hike, etc and happy to explore the area on your own then it's fine- friendly staff and all the basics that you need.

Friendly and family-like atmosphere and amazing surroundings! The starry night sky as observed from the Kasbah roof top terrace, is itself worth a visit. If you don't have time to spend the night, don't hesitate to stay for dinner - the food is some of the best we had in all of Marocco. The truly home cooked experience 1800 meters above sea level.

Simply one of the most magical places in the south of Morocco- though a little hard to find, it is well worth the detour to stay there a few days. Jamel and his staff were fantastically charming, helpful and welcoming. The cook also prepared the best couscous we had while in Morocco (every Friday is couscous day!) and also some of the most delicious teas. Can't recommend highly enough! If I decide to write a book one day, I'll probably come here for the peace, tranquility and inspiring sceneries.
