If you like the idea of sleeping on a motorway this is the hotel for you !
Hotel on main route to airport . Very noisy. Buses cars motor bikes racing by all hours day and night. Poor insulation from road noise. Room walls paper thin. Kept awake by neighbours talking until 2 am, road noise all night and airline crews departing from 5-30 am.
Directed to smoking floor , but assured hotel was non smoking
Whole floor reeked of stale tobacco. Quite horrible.
Add to this a narrow single bed and you have a pretty awful nights sleep ( or virtually no sleep in my case)

Front desk staff very nice and apologetic but the fundamentals will not change
Don't stay here

Room Tip: As far away from front ( road) as possible

Dear Sir,

First of all we wish to thank you for your feedback regarding your stay in our hotel. Our staff will be very happy about your nice compliments, thank you. Regarding your comments about the location on the main road (avenue Léopold III) to go to the airport we are surprised because our hotel is not situated ont this road. We are situated on the street avenue Jules Bordet. We suggest you for your future stay the communicate your preferences at booking time. Our reservation team will do its best to block you a room whcih will fulfill your expectations.

We do hope to welcome you again in one of our hotels in order to prove you that a high standard remains our objective.

Yours sincerely,

Stayed here for 2 nights on business. Initial impressions were good, got to my room and the room was clean. Went in the bathroom and the shower was dripping onto a sodden towel underneath the shower head - bit weird. Bed was rock solid but slept ok considering the aeroplanes flying overhead (inevitable in this area in Brussels). Breakfast was ok, the 'hot' food was barely warm though which was not good. There was also a massive queue for drinks during breakfast as you had to cut your own oranges to make orange juice - not the most efficient in a business hotel where people are probably in a rush. Got back to my room on the second evening and it stank of cigarette smoke despite it being a non smoking room - not very impressed at all. Overall the stay was ok but there is definitely room for improvement.

Dear Madam,

Thank you for choosing Mercure Brussels Airport hotel for your business stay in Brussels. All your comments about the room are seriously taken in consideration by our teams. Also the remarks about our breakfast products and service are constructive, thank you for that. We are very surprised about the smoking smell on the second night only. How this could be possible we really cannot give you answer. In this type of situation we advise you to inform immediately the Reception desk and the necessary will be done to accommodate you in another room.

We hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the future.
Kind regards,
I.S.

Arriving here as part of a coach party after a long early start in Devon England the room was a good size with everything you needed (which wasn't much by then apart from sleep) Bed was really comfortable & clean, our cases were very quick even with 38 of us plus drivers. Our breakfast was excellent with a good chose which gave us a good start for our on going journey to Austria.

Pretty poor hotel. I had to stay here last minute and appreciated the friendliness of the check in staff in finding me a room at such short notice, they also took some money off given it was 10pm and they knew they wouldn’t get rid of the room otherwise. I got upgraded to a superior suite given my platinum Accor status. I met a friend for a drink in the small but nice bar area. It went downhill from there. The room was terrible. I often get upgraded but to call this a superior room was a joke. The suite part comprised of a very old room added on to the bedroom, which had a very small TV in it, a table and an old sofa. The only thing I used the room for was to iron my shirt as it had a convenient plug. To be fair the picture on their website is a fair reflection of the room, however it doesn’t reflect quite how tired and basic the room feels.

The bed was very uncomfortable, I’m pretty sure it was two separate mattresses pushed together, which I hate as you just slip down the middle. The room also stank, the guy at reception did tell me it was a smoking room, but I didn’t think it would be too bad. It was, the tired look combined with the stale smell meant I felt like I was staying in a hostel rather than a hotel that whilst not expensive it certainly more than a hostel.

I got breakfast sent to the room and that was fine and not bad value for money.

There are quite a few hotels around the airport area so I will be using one of those next time unless this hotel goes through a major refurb.

I wish I had taken pictures to show how disgusting the room was! We came for my boyfriend to attend a conference and chose this hotel based on its close location and fairly good reviews, but we were disappointed (and feeling itchy) as soon as we walked into the elevator and then into our room. The hotel was completely outdated and the bed was flat and uneven; did not look comfortable at all. There was an odd sofa/futon that looked stained and dirty in one corner, and the carpet was stained dirty as well. And for this, 185€ a night? Seriously?? We didnt bother unpacking and stayed in the room just long enough to find another hotel. We checked out immediately and stayed at the Marriott Grand downtown, 20 minutes away, 50€ cheaper and completely worth it.
