Passed through Phrae on the way to Nan & Chiang Mai. Was too late already to push onto Nan & was looking for accommodations for the night.

Wasn't expecting much of a small town hotel. Room was basic, but most importantly it was clean. Only gripe was that there was a strong smell of incense pervading the room. Lucky it was winter and I could leave the windows open, which helped.

Service left a lot to be desired. Person at the counter was glum & not helpful at all.

All in all, very good value when you consider the price!

This hotel is basic but has everything you need. It's new, has courteous helpful staff, and walking distance to the city walls and old town. They even have frozen dinners if you're hungry. They are helpful with maps and pointing out attractions. Room is new, clean and tidy, and aircon functions well. I wonder though why there are louver windows facing the walk area. They should have just sealed it with cement to muffle the noise. But nothing unbearable.

Good price too. Best option in Phrae.

The tiny hotel impressed me by its cleanliness and fully equipped with nescessary room amenities. Of course, the owner may not intend to build even a 3-star hotel, but it is good enough to be recognized by me as good as a 3-4 star hotel.

For the price I was expecting this to be a very basic hotel. It is basic in terms of the facilities in the hotel, no restaurant, no swimming pool, no fitness centre etc.

However the rooms are much better kitted out then you would expect. Fully serviced fridge, very large flatscreen TV. And couches and seating area in the VIP rooms.

This is my second stay - but will be back

This modern facility really ticks all the boxes, especially at thb 500 for a small room on the second floor.

+ sparkling clean throughout
+ good air con and shower
+ friendly staff
+ massive lcd panel display
+ luxurious bed, not too big
+ internet was fine
+ stylish functional furnishings

Trivial minuses

- no English signage at all
- brisk 10 to 20 minute walk to access markets and restaurants in the old town

Tip: just outside the gate of the hotel and across the street there is a coin operated filtered water dispenser. Fill up for just a few baht.

Enjoy!
