Vasse Felix has a new chef, but the quality of the food, its preparation and service have not changed. multiple flavors - none interfering with the other, but rather all enhancing the main ingredient, whether it be ceviche of kingfish, pappardelle, or snapper - all in a lovely setting above the vineyard, babbling brook and art installations - the only disappointment, the continued lack of comfortable access for those with mobility issues - but well worth the effort if you can navigate a lengthy walk from the car park and a set of steep stairs.

This place had been recommended to us by multiple people. The wine yard is nice also the building. The wines are mainly OK I love the Shiraz and the sweet wine which are great. We had also lunch there which was also mainly Good. Chicken as a starter was perfect, my smoked Kingfish a disappointment. My main was a fish as well with Broccolini and radish and it was great. The lamb of my wife was good but a little bit too gamy. All in all a very nice lunch and trip - I can recommend it

It always set the standard for fine dining and service in Margaret River but we wondered whether this could be sustained when the chef team changed over. Recently we dined as a party of 11 with eastern state friends keen to be exposed to this famous venue and we were delighted that it exceeded expectations. Large parties can be tricky but we were handled with care and seated at the chefs table, a long high table between the fire and kitchen. We noted some small internal decor and seating changes but essentially the open upstairs dining room remains spacious with the verandah for summer. We opted for the set menu, 4 courses plus dessert and most chose the wine selection. It's excellent value and the food was well above standard- normally anything Marron in WA gets my vote but curiously the beginning of Marron and a dashi broth was fine but the Marron was small and a little overlooked. We had started with a chefs tasting plate including a selection of 3 Amuse bouches , a seaweed, potato and truffle and a chocolate and avocado waffle. Each course got better, a beautiful corn and laver dish, then the highlight of chicken voudavan - sous vide and crisped chicken with a touch of curry. The "meat" was beef cheek (not a favorite of mine) but mostly tender and the cabbage excellent. A plate of desert was delicious. Matching wine especially the filius Chardonnay and the Cabernet outstanding. Service was professional and attentive with care in delivery and a courteous explanation of each course and wine. It seems the transition has been successful- if anything the food is slightly less fussy or complex but the flavours clever and successful. Overwhelming success and the easterners were suitably impressed. We'll be back!

Our friends told us we had to visit this winery but we were very disappointed. There are much better wineries to visit locally that treat you nicely and make you feel special. You pick up some great wines that are not so well known and taste really good. If you like their wines then do visit if you're looking for a more personalised visit however try somewhere else and you might discover some hidden gems.
