Passports are needed when visiting Barbados. As of January 1st 2005, all US Citizens also need passports to visit the island. Gone are the days when you can visit our shores with driver's licenses and identification cards. No visas are required by US/Canadian/British. There maybe some countries that are required to have a VISA to enter Barbados.
Please note that Cruise Ship passengers who are US Citizens currently do not need a passport if they are arriving and departing a cruise ship in the same day. However, If you are flying into Barbados to pickup a ship or disembarking a ship to fly out of Barbados you are required to have a passport. However, this all changes in Jan 07 when all US Citizens will be required to have a Passport to travel to the Caribbean (US Govt Law).
