The Clos Archaeological Foundation is the owner of the Egyptian Museum of Barcelona and this was founded in 1993 by Jordi Clos, who was passionate about Egyptian art and started his private collection. The museum has more than 2000 square meters of gallery space, with about a thousand exhibits. These include mummies, sarcophagi, jewelry, and amulets. The museum has one of Europe's largest private collections of Egyptian art. The Foundation does research and publishes works about Egypt. It is actively involved in education about Egyptian art and life and also has a travel agency to promote travel to Egypt.
